Ankarlo Mornings 8-30-07

Thursday, August 30, 2007:  The conversation about Senator Larry Craig continues on this edition of Ankarlo Mornings.  The more Darrell reads about the story, the more he wonders if we should cut the guy some slack.  At 9, Darrell reacts to a story on the NBC Nightly News.  According to the story, most Russians under the age of 30 view America as the enemy.  There is a new nationalism taking root in Mother Russia, while the opposite is happening here in the States.  Our kids are being taught that those brilliant Founding Fathers were nothing but slave owners, that we killed the Native Americans and we stole the desert southwest from Mexico.  Are we in the middle of the fall of America?  At 10, Darrell explores NAFTA for a little while as Mexican trucks will start coming into the US as of Saturday to deliver goods.  What kind of goods will be in the back of the uninspected trucks though?  The Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, Randy Pullen joins Darrell after that to talk about John McCain and the primary system.  And in the final hour, it’s time to focus on our nation’s schools.  An eighth grade student was suspended for drawing a picture of a gun.  The Director of Public Relations for the Florence Unified School District tells us more.

Ankarlo Mornings 8-28-07

Tuesday August 28, 2008:  So a conservative Republican Senator gets caught with his pants down in a men’s room.  Shouldn’t he resign?  Listen to today’s edition of Ankarlo Mornings to hear Darrell’s take.  Mayor Phil Gordon stops in for his weekly visit pushing Proposition 1.  It will raise taxes to pay for more police officers and firefighters in the city.  In the ten o’clock hour, Darrell talks to Aviation Expert Mike Boyd from the Boyd Group about safety at Sky Harbor Airport.  Also in that hour, Ankarlo confesses that his daughter got a tattoo and he’s a little freaked out about it.  The final hour of the show brings a discussion about illegal immigration because the U.S. Border Patrol says it’s not their jobs to stop illegal immigration.  So I guess it’s noone’s job.  Darrell also talks to terrorism expert Dr. James Carafano from the Heritage Foundation.  Should we be worried about another attack?

Monday, August 27, 2007:  Today’s show was jammed.  We had breaking news all over the place.  First, Michael Vick made a statement after entering his guilty plea in court to dog fighting charges.  We carried it live.  The U.S. Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales resigned as well.  President Bush gave a short speech saying thank you to Gonzales.  You can here it below.  ABC news reporter Louise Schiavione also joined Darrell live from Washington, D.C.  as did Ken Vogel from Politico.com.  And the fun didn’t end there, Darrell went to a couple ball games over the weekend at each one there was ”the loud guy.”  Yes.  He’s the guy having the loud conversation.  What should Darrell have done?  In the final hour of the show, Darrell talks about a new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the Washington, D.C. Mall.  A panel chose a Chinese born sculptor and some are upset the sculptor isn’t black.  And one bit of audio you have to hear…Miss Teen South Carolina.  Listen and enjoy!
