Ankarlo Mornings 9-05-07

Wednesday, September 5, 2007: Darrell is back from his Rocky Point Vacation and the only thing he lost was a toe nail. Details on the show. What about Idaho Senator Larry Craig? Over the weekend he said he “intends to resign.” This opens up the door for him to fight. Also, is the media ready to annoint Hillary Clinton the next President of the United States? Darrell thinks so. In the ten o’clock hour, some Mesa cops are being investigated by internal affairs because of pictures they put on their walls. Someone got offended. So what offends you? In the final hour of the show, Darrell talks to Former CIA Analyst Larry Johnson about the “imminent” terror threat in Germany to a U.S. military base. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (the guy who failed so many) is considering running for Governor of the state of Louisiana. What a joke. Nagin is one of the guys who has taken some post-Katrina, as have President Bush, La. Gov. Kathleen Blanco, but the media has escaped scott-free. Why? They made too many mistakes too count. Shame of Arizona

Earlier this week, Chandler, Ariz., police Sgt. Tom Lovejoy was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty in the August death of his police dog and partner. This officer did not practice cruelty to his partner. In fact, the dog was treated as a member of the sergeant’s family. Sgt. Tom Lovejoy has proven himself with years of loyal service to us and the citizens of Arizona. Our officer is grieving his partner’s death and the cruel treatment of the media and judicial system not only to himself but to his family. If Ohio can allow an assistant principle tragedy in her life without prosecution though it shamefully resulted in her child’s death, then, how in the world, do we inflict further trauma on our public Arizona servant? Tragedy can strike anyone.

We rightly prosecute cruelty inflicted negligently, purposefully, and habitually when practiced by law breaking individuals. Why are we charging Sgt. Lovejoy?

I would like to know how to support Sgt. Tom Lovejoy and his family. We all need to support our faithful public servants. We certainly do not properly support our officers with proper salaries that almost always require their spouses to work in order to just pay the most basic bills.

    Sincerely,

    John and Monique
