The focus of today’s show revolves around children. There is no question that Halloween is becoming over sexualized with younger and younger children wearing less every October 31st. This is reason for concern. Kids are being older far too fast nowadays.
To top it all off, some of our schools have been labeled “drop-out factories.” So, are we failing our kids in all walks of life? A local 17-year old student brought shot gun shells to school and received a four-day suspension. Was this too much? Darrell says no. She is lucky she only got the four days.
There is no other way for Darrell to start off today’s show than by celebrating the Boston Red Sox World Series victory with his producer Rob and Arizona’s Morning News anchor Ned Foster. Darrell gets a little taste of Boston!
Over the weekend, Darrell stopped by Pruitt’s furniture to face off with the immigration activists. Other than being almost arrested and watching his wife verbally battle it out with the protesters it was uneventful. New York state is also moving forward with allowing illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses. The irony there is obvious.
At ten o’clock it is on to politics. The first primary votes will be cast in just over 2 months and the numbers are in. More and more voters in Arizona are registering as “other” and bucking the two-party trend. Ben Smith from Politico.com drops in to explain why.
In the final hour, find out just how easy it is for people to get a fake ID in the United States. Saud Leija joins Darrell. She runs this website and used to deal in fake documents with her family. She has turned a corner though and is co-operating with the government to put some of these criminals away.
In the final part of the show, Darrell reminisces about breakfast cereals from his youth.
