Ankarlo: Mon Nov 12, 2007

Happy Veterans Day.  You should take a few minutes and thank some Veterans  today because of the great sacrafices they have made.  They carry both the heavy load and the heavy burden for us all.  Thank you all who have served us.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings, Darrell chats with Former US Ambassador to the U-N, John Bolton.  Bolton has been outspoken about the United Nations, Iran and North Korea.  But, he also took some shots and his friends Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice and President George Bush.  You must listen to this!

Also, Darrell talks to wealth advisor Michael P. Black about real estate, 401K’s and your finances.  If you listen to the news, they keep telling you to prepare for the worst.  Black helps make sense of it all.

In the final hour of the show, Darrell says it’s too easy to get divorced.  Especially, since Broward County Florida has moved divorce petitions online.  Ankarlo also pays tribute to Veterans on their day.

Ankarlo: Thurs Nov 8

Did the Chandler rapist strike again? Police searched a home this morning after a man was spotted by a 15 year old in her bedroom. The man fled the scence. Police then blocked off the area, but ended the search just before 9 this morning. No suspect was caught. So Ankarlo asks if we should give some sort of amnesty for illegal immigrants who help catch the suspect?

As FM News/Talk 92.3 KTAR has been reporting today, illegal immigration is one of the hottest topics in the country and certainly here in the Valley. A temporary worker was been arrested at Saguaro High School for taking underskirt pictures of high school girls. Ricardo Espinoza-Valdez is in this country illegally having overstayed his work visa. In addition, 23 workers at Chicago’s O’Hare airport have been arrested for being in the country illegally. Yes, at an airport. Let’s not forget the columnist who writes for the Miami Herald saying the constant banter about illegal immigration could lead to an uprising in the USA similar to the intifada in Israel.

There is a lot of negative news coming out about the US economy right now. The value of the dollar is falling, the price of oil hovers near $100 a barrell, we are still in the middle of a subprime mortgage mess and the fear is the cosumers will stop spending. Bloomberg Business Reporter, Ben Farnsworth stops in the explain.

It’s a Red V. Blue Thursday!  What does that mean?  Every Thursday we will be engaging in a debate.  Because we are committed to bringing you the best election coverage in Phoenix we will present one Democrat and one Republican to verbally duke it out (hence the Red V Blue).  This week Arizona State Rep. David Schapira with Arizonans for Sen. Barack Obama will debate with Congressman Ron Paul (and internet phenom)’s Communications Director, Jesse Benton.  Congressman Paul hasn’t been faring well in the polls, but has been raising a ton of money on the internet (including a record $4.2 million in one day).  The latest polls show Sen. Obama running neck and neck against Sen. Hillary Clinton in Iowa.  Obama has also been dogged by questions of experience on the trail.  Let the debate begin!

He drives a Rolls Royce, but he is a Minister.  Pastor Creflo Dollar says the car was purchased by his followers.  Sen. Charles Grassley says this isn’t cool.  He wants to look into Dollar’s and other ministries tax exempt status.  Would you go to a Church if you knew the minister was driving fancy cars, living in a big house, or sitting on a 25K toilet?

Obviously, there has been tons of news out of China.  There have been toys tainted with lead and GHB (the date rape drug), vinyl-made baby bibs, the list goes on and on.  So it is time to put country-of-origin labels on everything we buy?  The Associate Director of CATO’s Center for Trade Policy Studies, Dan Ikenson, drops in to tell Darrell we don’t need more regulations.  Darrell also talks to Roger Simmermaker who runs a website dedicated to buying American made products.  It’s all about choice.

Ankarlo Mornings 8-16-07

Thursday August 16, 2007:  Have you seen the doctored photo of Sheriff Joe in a KKK outfit being forwarded by Elias Bermudez?  It’s nuts.  Sheriff Joe joins Ankarlo right at the start of the show to address it.  He gets fired up to.  It’s a must listen.  In the 9 o’clock hour, Darrell talks to Sara Bongiorni, author of a A Year Without Made in China.  Sara and her family lived “China Free” for an entire year, meaning they didn’t buy any goods made in China.  They had a very difficult time doing it.  Could you do the same thing?  Or are we too dependent on goods from China?  At 10, A bishop in the Catholic Church proposes calling God Allah in order to appease the world and make peace.  Would that work?  Or is it going too far?  Darrell and several callers discuss.  And in the final hour of the show, Ankarlo talks to foreign investment advisor, Jose Perez, about buying real estate in Mexico.

Ankarlo Mornings 8-06-07

Monday August 6, 2007:  Mitt Romney got a little defensive about his Mormon religion.  Listen to what Ankarlo has to say about it.  Plus, have you ever listened to these “market experts.”  Some say panic, some say sell and some say buy.  Darrell wonders how you can make sense of any of it?  In the ten 0′clock hour, Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld from the American Center for Democracy comes on to talk about terrorism and who funds it.  Darrell also talks about a mother who left her kids in the car on purpose in order to go to work.  She had to work.  Should she face jail time?  And in the final hour, the President just signed the a new warrantless wiretap bill.  Are they listening to you?
