Ankarlo: Tue Nov 13, 2007

Ankarlo popped down to the Veterans Day Parade yesterday during the end of his show.  He had a run in with Spanish language radio station 1190AM Vice President Myra Nieves.  Nieves has been making the news lately by complaining about the Chandler rapist being called Hispanic.  In any event, before he was able to speak to Nieves one of her people said “Ankarlo hates Latinas.”  Of course, this is ridiculous.  But, it is a typical talking point response.

Speaking of illegal immigration, have you seen the new Tom Tancredo for President commercial?  If not, watch it here.  Tancredo says our open borders could lead to terrorism and the video shows a man stuffing something into a backpack walking into a mall.  The voice over says “Islamic terrorists now freely roam US soil.”  The spot ends with the sound of a bomb.  Does it go too far or is it a wake up message we all need to hear?

How about another teacher-student love story. The thirteen year old student is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. The teacher is 25. They both fled south of the border where they were apprehended by police. Now, her lawyer is claiming it’s all the 13-year olds fault because he “groomed” her for this relationship. To top it all off, the student might qualify for a “U” Visa. If he does, he might get to stay in the United States for four years and then apply for permanent citizenship. Why? Because he helped solve the crime. Just another visa only a few knew about? So, if there is a such a visa, no illegals should fear turning in the Chandler rapist, right?

What is the deal with this one?  Georgia is in a severe drought and the entire Atlanta area may even run out of water.  So Governor Sonny Perdue is calling for people to pray for rain.  How come it is only when things get bad people start praying?   As one caller says to Ankarlo, we are almost “pimping” God.  What a great quote.

Finally today, is the news media biased because we cover illegal immigrant crimes? Do we cover them more than other crimes? FM News/Talk 92.3 KTAR Program Director Russ Hill talks to Darrell about this saying, why wouldn’t we report on an alleged criminal’s status? What do you think? Feel free to use the comment section on this topic or any other.

Ankarlo Audio: Friday Oct 26, 2007

Today, Ankarlo starts by addressing our local schools. A teacher in Chandler is in trouble for connecting his laptop to an overhead projector because porn images popped up on the screen. The whole class saw them. But, it is his first offense, so should be be fired? The Higley Unified School District is in the news again today as well. The teacher who was filmed doing a cheer in her humanities class has now given out a book that has some parents up in arms. The book is called James Reinvented and is loosely based on The Great Gatsby. In this case, the subjects are still in high school and attend numerous parties throughout the school year. Of course, there is booze and sex at them. Which is why some parents in Higley are upset. Darrell also talks to Dr. James DeHaan about the California Wildfires. The Santiago fire has been now blamed on arson and Dr. DeHaan explains what investigators look for to determine if it is arson. At ten, Darrell brings Peter Paul on the show. Peter says both Bill and Hillary Clinton have broken numerous Federal Election Laws as well as some of their political operatives. Peter also has a documentary detailing these allegations. You can view part of the video in the post above this one. In the final hour, Darrell talks to Chris Farrell from Judicial Watch. Judicial Watch is representing the “36th and Thomas Business Coaltion.” Pruitt’s furniture is part of that group and they are being targeted for a protest Saturday October 27, 2007. Pruitt’s is being targeted because of a crackdown on day laborers camped outside their business. Hence, why Judicial Watch is entering.

Ankarlo Audio: Mon Oct 22, 2007

Today on Ankarlo Mornings, Darrell invites Stephen Lemons from the Phoenix New Times to ask him why his paper would publish Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s home address.  And just what does the New Times have against the Sheriff anyways?  There are wildfires burning in Malibu and celebrity homes are burning.  But, why don’t we care?  Is it because we are jealous or because we hate rich people?  Isn’t that what America is all about?  A new report has come out about our schools and they may not be as safe as you thought.  Not from violence, but from teachers who get charged with sexual misconduct.

Ankarlo Mornings 8-30-07

Thursday, August 30, 2007:  The conversation about Senator Larry Craig continues on this edition of Ankarlo Mornings.  The more Darrell reads about the story, the more he wonders if we should cut the guy some slack.  At 9, Darrell reacts to a story on the NBC Nightly News.  According to the story, most Russians under the age of 30 view America as the enemy.  There is a new nationalism taking root in Mother Russia, while the opposite is happening here in the States.  Our kids are being taught that those brilliant Founding Fathers were nothing but slave owners, that we killed the Native Americans and we stole the desert southwest from Mexico.  Are we in the middle of the fall of America?  At 10, Darrell explores NAFTA for a little while as Mexican trucks will start coming into the US as of Saturday to deliver goods.  What kind of goods will be in the back of the uninspected trucks though?  The Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, Randy Pullen joins Darrell after that to talk about John McCain and the primary system.  And in the final hour, it’s time to focus on our nation’s schools.  An eighth grade student was suspended for drawing a picture of a gun.  The Director of Public Relations for the Florence Unified School District tells us more.
