Is an open border advocate working with McCain?

There are reports out today saying that Dr. Juan Hernandez is John McCain’s “Hispanic Outreach Director.” I have called McCain’s press office to confirm or deny this. But, so far they haven’t answered my question. Here is what we do know. Hernandez is a U.S. born citizen with dual citizenship with Mexico. He served in Former Mexican President Vincente Fox’s cabinet as Director of the Office for Mexicans Living Abroad. Keep in mind, Hernandez was born in Fort Worth, Texas.

In a 2001 interview with Nightline, Hernandez said “We are betting that the Mexican population in the United States will become more and more like the Jewish communty in the United States and the Puerto Rican community in the United States, that they will think Mexico first. And they will invest in Mexico. They’ve already been doing it to great extent…but now I want the third generation, the seventh generation, I want them all to think Mexico first. ” Remember, this guy was born in America. Listen below.

In 2006 on the Fox News Channel, Dr. Juan Hernandez said, “let me remind you the people using false social security numbers are putting in money for you and for me into the social security administration.” So does that make identity theft okay? The bottom line is Hernandez wants more immigrants to come to the United States. On his own website, he writes an article calling for a fix to the broken U.S. immigration system. Hernandez wants temporary guest workers, work visas, a path to citizenship for those who came here illegally, and a reuniting of close family members.

So is this guy working for McCain. Again, no comment yet from the McCain camp. But, here is a photo of Hernandez with McCain advisor Mark McKinnon and McCain’s daughter Meaghan. The photo was taken on December 10, 2007 backstage at the Univision Republican Debate. At the very least, Dr. Hernandez was present inside McCain’s green room at the Spanish language debate. This doesn’t just happen by coincidence.

That is him on the right. Here is a picture from Hernandez’s website. It’s from 1996. And yes that is then Governor of Texas George W. Bush, Hernandez and then Mexican President Vincente Fox.

There is plenty to like about Sen. John McCain. He is an American hero. He has served this country well. He is a leader and proponent on the War in Iraq and he is adamant that government cut spending. But, there is the other side of McCain. The McCain who worked with a very liberal Senator Russ Feingold on legislation to limit political free speech. There is also the McCain who worked with Sen. Ted Kennedy on an immigration reform bill that pretty much amounted to amnesty. Ankarlo asked McCain about the “amnesty bill” in Iowa back in November. McCain responded by saying “I was never for amnesty” and then went on to say most people who ask me questions are better informed. McCain continues to say he hasn’t changed his position on the border, but if he has hired Dr. Juan Hernandez, an amnesty advocate, one has to wonder what McCain really believes.

Listen to Ankarlo ask McCain about amnesty below.

Ankarlo: Wed Dec 19, 2007

We have seen Gov. Huckabee’s Christmas Ad…Now, Mayor Giuliani has one. Check it out. What’s up with the fruit cake? Oh and of course The Obama family has their own Christmas commercials. On today’s show, Ankarlo talks to Mike Sensing from Pruitt’s. Salvador Reza has organized a march that is starting in front of the family owned furniture store. So far, 45 people have showed up to march to City Hall. Do they really expect to make a difference with 45 people? They are marching in what they are calling a “Walk for Justice” to protest Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon’s move to change police policy 1.4.3. The policy basically doesn’t keeps Phoenix police from enforcing federal immigration law. Also, CKE Restaurants (Carl’s Jr) CEO Jason LeVecke says he won’t open anymore Carl Jrs in Arizona due to the Arizona Employer Sanctions Law. He says it is just not worth the risk. LeVecke says what if one of my managers makes a mistake and hires an illegal immigrant? I would lose my business license and all 1,200 of my employees would lose their jobs. And we would lose out on eating some great burgers.Ankarlo unveils a solution today. Since illegal immigrants cost the state (taxpayers) of Arizona over $1 billion in health care, education, and prison costs why don’t we start charging the businesses who hire them? If you want to hire illegal immigrants you pay their health care costs, education costs, etc. Sounds pretty simple really. What would you do for $1000? Who you put a tattoo on your private parts? Sean Dubowik did. Now he is suing the Mayo Clinic because the surgeon took pictures of his tattoo. Weird. And Ankarlo talks about it in-depth.A new Zobgy poll says Gov. Mike Huckabee is in a virtual tie with Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a nationwide poll of the Republican candidates. This is the first time Huckabee has been vaulted to a top tier candidate outside of Iowa and South Carolina. Where did the rise come from? Is he playing that well among Christians with his Christmas ad and his Baptist past? Or is it because the Iraq War and terrorism are no longer the top issues anymore? Finally, why are the conservatives hating on Huckabee so much? David Corn says Huckabee is trying to play both sides. Another columnist says Huckabee is the new Jimmy Carter. And we all know about Jimmy Carter. Writing in the Chicago Sun Times, Steve Huntley says “only a Republican party hell-bent on suicide would nominate Mike Huckabee as its standard-bearer in next years presidential sweepstakes.” Wow. Jesse Walker at Reason Magazine says control of the Republican Party is up for grabs. How about this for a finale. Brittney Spears younger sister, Jamie Lynn is pregnant at 16. What is wrong with the Spears family?

Ankarlo: Mon Dec 10, 2007

We are less than a month away from both the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primaries and the campaigns are bringing out the celebrities. Sen. Barack Obama saw Oprah bring record crowds to events in New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina over the weekend. Sen. Hillary Clinton responding by sending her husband to a black church and by brining her daughter out at several campaign stops.

Ankarlo thinks Chelsea has become quite the looker. I think he must have lost his mind simply becuase being Hillary’s daughter excludes her from ever being hot. What do you think? Vote in the Ankarlo poll.

Chelsea

Sorry for the diversion. Back to the campaign trail. The simple question is whether or not Oprah is being racist in supporting Barack Obama. Is she? Ankarlo noticed the different way Oprah talked to the crowds in New Hampshire and Iowa as opposed to South Carolina. Check out today’s podcast after the show to find out exactly what Ankarlo means.

While Oprah and Chelsea were stumping for Obama and Mom the Republicans were taking part in a debate focused on Hispanic issues. Never mind the obvious pandering, let’s bring the issue back home. Federal Judge Neil Wake made a decision on the Arizona Employer Sanctions Law. In nutshell he said the 15 organizations saying the law is unconstitutional are suing the wrong parties. Here is the decision. They were suing the Governor and the Attorney General. Judge Wake the groups should have sued the County Attorneys. So guess, just what the coalition did today. Yes, they sued the County Attorneys.

Here is a list of the groups suing over the Arizona Employers Sanctions Law: The Arizona Contractors Association, The Arizona Employers for Immigration Reform, The Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America, The Arizona Chamber of Commerce, The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Arizona Farm Bureau Federation, the Arizona Restaurant and Hospitality Association, the Associated Minority Contractors of America, the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association, The National Roofing Contractors Association, Wake Up Arizona!, The Arizona Landscape Contractors Association, Chicanos por La Causa and Somos America.

Today’s Holiday Hero is Kristen Martin. Her husband, Sgt. Thomas Martin serves in the Arizona National Guard in Afghanistan. He has been away from home for 19 months; a long time for Kristen and her four boys to go without their dad. She admits, she is one of the lucky ones because she is able to talk to her husband often. But, still Kristen and her family have made tremendous sacrifices. And though, Sgt. Martin is expected home in February this will, but this will be another Christmas without him. Sgt. Thomas Martin and his wife, Kristen, are two of our KTAR Holiday Heroes.

Did you hear that rapper Snoop Dogg has a new TV Show called Father Hood. The show focuses on his family life with his wife and his three kids. But, can Snoop Dogg really be a good parent based on his past? What about because he makes a ton of money in the porn industry? Feel free to comment.

It’s Red V. Blue Thursday and the premiere of the Ankarlo Political Death Match.  It’s a no-holds barred verbal bout to determine supremacy.  Who’s candidate can stand up to the test?  This is a contest that involves you and your love for one of the candidates.  In the first round of Week One Chuck called in for Congressman Ron Paul battled it out with Robert, who supports Senator Fred Thompson.  Thompson came on late, but Paul managed to hold him off winning round one.  In the second round, Paul (the survivor) took on Daniel, representing Senator Hillary Clinton.  Hillary came to play, but Paul defended his round one crown and is one step closer to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  Chuck will come back next week to defend Congressman Ron Paul.  Do you have what it takes to knock him off?  Week Two of the Ankalro Political Death Match will kick off next Thursday, December 6th at 10 a.m.  Mark it on your calendars and make sure you set an appointment to represent your candidate and win an Ankarlo Prize Pack.

Darrell also wonders if calling someone illegal is the same as calling a black person the n-word.  A local activist said it is.  Though there is nothing about the word illegal that signifies race or creed.  If this is the case, is there something else we can call illegal immigrants?  Darrell ponders over the word cheaters.  Others suggest terms like infiltrator, sovereignty terrorist or border jumper.  But, shouldn’t you call a spade a spade?

Non-verbal communications expert, Dr. Barry Goodfield joins Darrell to talk about the body language used during last night’s Republican You Tube debate.  Fritz Wenzel from Zogby International also discusses their latest poll numbers on the Ankarlo Power Poll.  Sen. Clinton is trending downward, while Sen. Obama is gaining.  On the Republican ticket, Gov. Huckabee is making some moves in Iowa while Mayor Giuliani is holding on to a national lead.  Gov. Romney is showing strong support in New Hampshire and in South Carolina while Sen. McCain continues to struggle.

Meanwhile, someone in the Valley has been spending their time driving their Lamborghini 219 miles per hour while filming it.  Watch it below, but PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT!
