Ankarlo Audio: Mon Oct 29, 2007

There is no other way for Darrell to start off today’s show than by celebrating the Boston Red Sox World Series victory with his producer Rob and Arizona’s Morning News anchor Ned Foster.  Darrell gets a little taste of Boston!

Over the weekend, Darrell stopped by Pruitt’s furniture to face off with the immigration activists.  Other than being almost arrested and watching his wife verbally battle it out with the protesters it was uneventful.  New York state is also moving forward with allowing illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses.  The irony there is obvious.

At ten o’clock it is on to politics.  The first primary votes will be cast in just over 2 months and the numbers are in.  More and more voters in Arizona are registering as “other” and bucking the two-party trend.  Ben Smith from Politico.com drops in to explain why.

In the final hour, find out just how easy it is for people to get a fake ID in the United States.  Saud Leija joins Darrell.  She runs this website and used to deal in fake documents with her family.  She has turned a corner though and is co-operating with the government to put some of these criminals away.

In the final part of the show, Darrell reminisces about breakfast cereals from his youth.

The subject of immigration once again comes up on Ankarlo Mornings today.  First, it’s former Mexican president Vincente Fox talking about the North American Union.  Phoenix Law Enforcement Association President Mark Spencer joins Darrell to try to sort of the Phoenix police immigration policy mess.  And then Darrell talks to the US Chamber of Commerce President, Tom Donahue.  The Chamber is suing Arizona over the employer sanctions bill.  Darrell also addresses Noah Gotbaum’s comments.  He blames the Sky Harbor Airport for not preventing his wife’s death.  The final hour of the show finds Darrell wondering why the Diamondbacks haven’t sold out their playoff series yet.  Darrell also touches on the Republican Presidential debate last night.

The 1980s were the worst decade ever!

Friday, October 5, 2007:  A busy, busy Ankarlo Mornings.  Darrell examines the Carol Ann Gotbaum story.  Just what did happen at Sky Harbor Airport.  Attorney Peter Friedman joins Darrell.  Later, Ankarlo says the 1980’s were the worst decade in the history of the United States…bad music, bad T.V. and bad movies.  It’s a good thing Ronald Regan was the President otherwise it would have been hopeless.  Olympic Champion Marion Jones has admitted to using steroids and Darrell says strip her of her medals.  But, is she different than Barry Bonds?  And finally, more and more companies are going towards an e-mail free Friday.  Should yours follow suit?

If you don’t support local teams, go home!

Monday, October 1, 2007:  The first day of October finds Darrell very upset at fans who don’t support the local teams.  He watched the Cardinals game yesterday was outraged when he saw the large number of Steelers fans in the crowd.  Not to mention the people lining up to buy playoff tickets to see the Cubs play the Diamonbacks.  Darrell says if you don’t like your local teams, move away.  Also, Darrell talks to Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe.  Rep.  Metcalfe has been tracking all crimes by illegal immigrants in his state and has compiled a report which you can read here, http://repmetcalfe.com/uploads/Invasion_MetcalfeWEB.pdf.  Maybe someone in our state should do this.  Darrell also talks about Clarence Thomas on today’s show.  He also talks to Phoenix magazine editor Ashlea Deahl.  Did the Phoenix magazine cause a man to committ suicide?

Who spoke at Columbia University?

Monday, September 24, 2007:  I think we have all heard that Columbia University is one of the most respected schools in all of America.  But, did that perception change a little today after they invited Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak there?  Or is this just about free speech?  Darrell Ankarlo reacts and carries portions of his speech on today’s Ankarlo Mornings.  In addition, Darrell wonders why the United Auto Workers Union is picketing General Motors when foreign auto makers are making big gains in the U.S.  And should Kurt Warner start next week over Matt Leinart, Darrell say yes!  Listen below.
