Doug and Wolf, Back on Campus: Live from ASU - Day 5

Here’s what happened today on Doug and Wolf:

* Suns take on the NBA’s best team (record wise), and perhaps the best young player in the game, Dwight Howard. But, who would be the better fit for the Suns system, Howard or Amare? Wolf says Stoudemire, but most callers disagree and would prefer Howard. Doug would go with David Howard. We’re not sure why – or, who David Howard even is.

* Big game in Big D’ last night. The Packers lose to the Cowboys and lose Bret Favre in the process. Wolf was impressed by the depleted Packers and thinks a playoff rematch in Dallas would be good thing for Green Bay, because their pass heavy offense is not conducive to January conditions at Lambeau.

Gridiron Griddle:

ASU radio analyst Jeff Van Raaphorst joined the guys to talk about “The Duel in the Desert.” He’s predicting a Sun Devils win, contingent upon a strong running game. He doesn’t know who David Howard is either.

Chick Picks

Gayle, Doug and Wolf all like ASU over UA. Greg Brady likes UA - but he dresses funny and is just strange in general. Gayle and Wolf also like the Colts, while Doug’s going for the upset with Jacksonville. Gayle and Doug, however, agree on the Giants over the Bears, while Wolf is the lone one going with Chicago.

* ESPN NFL analyst Mark Schlereth: Schlereth agrees with Wolf that Green Bay was foolish to abandon their identity of quick strike passes early in Dallas in favor of the deep passing game. Schlereth thinks the Browns are for real, and the Cardinals’ depleted secondary will have its work cut out for them on Sunday.
