    My definition of INSANITY?

Watching the Suns in the playoffs losing to the Spurs in the SAME fashion EVERY year. When will Coach D (whom I hope gets the giant purple and orange axe this year) understand that DEFENSE and REBOUNDING wins championships…NOT offense?!

The Spurs have been trying to educate the Suns for four years now with OJT and absolutely schooling them with the proven, championship formula, but the Suns keep wanting to LOSE the same way every year using their own unproven formula. I think the Spurs even pity the fans and the team at this point!

My contention is that the Suns simply want to put butts in the buckets and have NO intentions of winning a championship…it’s all about the $. They didn’t even seem disappointed last night after the loss, trading smiles and knuckle punches with the Spurs players. The Suns have NO mental or PHYSICAL toughness and don’t care to try hard enough to attain it. Parker slashes in the lane, scores and draws fouls, while Nash is content driving halfway in the lane and throwing passes over his head in the hopes a guy in purple will catch it. Back in the day, KJ would have shoved the ball down Parkers throat slashing in the lane…and Barkley would’ve scraped the glass and killed himself to graby every single available rebound. But athletes get paid much more nowadays just to stand around & watch. In Barkley’s & KJ’s day, their asses would’ve gotten benched for doing what Stat and Diesel do. Duncan and Thomas CRASH the boards while O’Neal and Stoudemire stand around and watch them. Shaq can’t even stuff the ball through anymore…it’s awful!!!

The Suns shoot and are one and done while the Spurs get several chances to score because they crash the boards and pull down the offensive rebounds. Poppovich employs timely strategy, D’Antoni keeps in Shaq to miss more than half of his freethrows because he’s too damn stubborn to take him out!

I could go on forever, but I will say unless/until the Suns get more defensive and rebounded minded, I won’t watch them anymore because it’s driving me absolutely insane!!!!

And not to over harp on the refereeing, but is it just me or do the refs seem to side with Spurs anytime the game is close and there is only a few minutes remaining?

Duncan’s trip over his own foot…who gets a foul called…SHAQ? The out of bounds pass with under 25 seconds left that Bowen tipped out…who is it called out on…NASH? Parker pulling Nash’s left arm do distract him so Horry can strip it from his right hand…NO CALL!

I call it championship courtesy…a TON of bad calls used to go against the Spurs when they were trying to dethrone the Lakers earlier in the decade. When they (Spurs) won a championship, the calls mysteriously started going their way. I foresee this trend continuing for the Suns UNTIL they break through (if they ever do) and win a championship!

I agree with Rick. I try to be objective, but I am sure that I am somewhat biased. But, Nash gets absolutely no respect for being a 2x MVP, not that an MVP should get calls just because they are an MVP. And Shaq used to get calls all the time. Once he gets to Phoenix, no respect, no calls. Does somebody really have it out for the Suns.
