Dan, Where’s the Love?

Here’s what happened Friday on Doug and Wolf:

We Work for the Weekend!

* Yesterday’s D-Backs looked like the 2007 D-Backs: aggressive on the base paths.

* Ash scoops us on Majerle being a Suns’ assistant coach. Where was the phone call Dan?

* Dave Burns is a GQ model in the local magazine, “Post”. Nice pose Burnsy!

Grid Iron Griddle:

Arlen Spector recants on officially closing his investigation of “Spygate”.

Guests:

Dan Majerle, Suns New Assistant Coach: Dan sent me a prepared statement saying that he could not talk about it now. It was one the best Dan Majerle interviews EVER!

Greg Schulte, Voice of the D-Backs: From what Greg saw when the D-Backs played the Mets, the second team in NYC is done. He also previewed the weekend series against the Twins.

Crunk List:

Baseball players use Vanilla Ice as punishment for losing a bet. Wolf had no idea that people know the words to “Ice, Ice Baby”

Paul’s Call: Paul Calvisi takes his sports seriously, without taking himself too seriously. Your daily dose of irreverence, angst, and stupification.

TV Two a Days:

We have a winner! Sort of….G&A intern Tom Phillips was our winner. The plasma standings are: D&W 12*-G&A 7.

* Tom Phillips was not eligible to win, but since he called we are counting it!

Monday’s Show:

Will Dan Majerle join us live or will we have another written statement?

    Douglas,

The other day I decided to try 620 again in the morning just to see if your contract had run out yet. As I switched over from NPR, I heard Calvisi. What a thrilling surprise. A witty, intelligent, and entertaining voice on 620 in the mornings! I was thinking, “hey I can listen again, your year and a half siege of a perfectly good radio station and a perfectly good time slot was finally over. Then “Paul’s call,” a segment I had not heard before closed out and I realized he hadn’t been give your job, rather this was a quick piece that I just hadn’t heard before. Man, what a downer.

I think your commentary lacks intelligent thought, logical arguments and humorous dialogue. You let your idealism cloud your logic and at times that leads you to say things that come across as thoughtless.

I hope that KTAR management will cometo their senses and find a spot that is better suited for you than the morning drive. At least I know now that I can switch off of NPR to check out Paul’s call every once in a while.

    Have a great week.

    Matt

So, who else thinks Doug is the worst talk show guy they’ve heard?

I disagree. I enjoy Doug in the morning. He’s creative and keeps me on edge with his opinions.

    Have a great day.

Sometimes I read these comments, and just shake my head…there’s enough negativity in the world without people like Matt spreading more of it around…Matt; if you don’t like the show, don’t listen. Simple choice - why post an insensitive comment to accentuate your opinion? And if you have issues, why don’t you man up and e-mail the man directly? Doug answers about 95% of my e-mails, on any topic, on a regular basis. As for me, I find their show extremely humorous and informative at the same time. I don’t necessarily agree with either Doug or Wolf on every topic, but I don’t feel the need to vent on a website to express my views. And to disagree with the show’s hosts is something that always keeps me listening - if there was no controversy, or difference in opinion, it would be just another ‘homer’ talk-show…boring as watching golf. Bye, Matt…
