Doug’s NFL Power Poll - Week 10

1. TITANS: : 3rd in rushing and 1st in scoring D…big test @CHI
2. GIANTS: every stat with TEN is pretty equal except passing offense and strength of schedule…oh, and TEN would never lose @CLE
3. PANTHERS: I know how dumb it is to say @OAK and vDET are must win but check out the Thanksgiving to New Year’s schedule and then try to disagree with me
4. STEELERS: Mike Smith has my vote and Tony Sparano is the running mate for NFL coach of the year…now that I’ve established that, check out the Steelers injuries and tell me why Tomlin isn’t the man
5. REDSKINS: lose vPITT on MNF and miss out on chance to keep up with NYG, lose vDAL on SNF and worry about missing out on playoffs…BTW, any young coaches who read this, when you’re down by 17 in the 4th Q and it’s 4th & 8, kick the FG
6. BUCS: would have passed WSH if they would have showed up in the first half @KC
7. EAGLES: how do you go from 7th into the power poll? beat NYG (I also would like something a little higher than 23rd in rushing)
8. CARDINALS: just think about this for a moment—do you think PHI could win vNYG?—if you answer yes and AZ beats vSF and @SEA, NYG @ AZ is for the #1 seed
9. PATRIOTS: did you know NE is v NYJ next Thursday?
10. JETS: see number 11 and then finish reading…it would have been nice to be 6-2 before you’re @NE and @TEN (yes, I’m dismissing vSTL)
11. FALCONS: hey NYJ fan, that’s how you go to OAK and take care of business (now you can return to number 10)
12. BILLS: weren’t you 5-1?
13. BEARS: TEN leads in rushing @CHI’s 8th best rushing defense…there’s a chance they could go from 13 to the power poll itself with a win
14. COWBOYS: Is there any chance AZ killed DAL and BUF in the desert?
15. PACKERS: can’t we just have Brett in GB and we all agree that this is his last year
16. COLTS: good win but still not together yet and @PIT is not the place to fix it
17. RAVENS: they’re 5-3 but the wins are against CIN, OAK, MIA and CLE x2, so where would you put them?…still 0-0 in four NFC EAST games—with all due respect to Blue Oyster Cult—FEAR THE REAPER
18. DOLPHINS: check out what I wrote last week: I don’t think they’re winning @DEN but if I’m wrong, they could sweep November…yes, I know I put this next to the Dolphins’ helmet…since I’m wrong about point one, look out for point two
19. SAINTS: the number one offense in the world and they’re not going to the playoffs
20. CHARGERS: still one game behind DEN and it was Ed Hochuli’s call that gave DEN the tie-breaker…ouch!
21. VIKINGS: big win…still don’t like where you sit with GB coming and back-to-back trips to FLA
22. TEXANS: they’re really not bad (as it relates to the bottom 10 teams)
23. BRONCOS: short week @CLE and then you’re @ATL who’s actually good…bye bye division
24. BROWNS: if I’m Browns fan I’m at least happy I’m not Bengals fan
25. JAGUARS: I’m finally off this bandwagon
26. RAMS: there, how’s that taste…that was for taking 3 of 4 v the D-Backs in September (while I’m at it you shouldn’t have won the World Series either)
27. SEAHAWKS: yes they moved up a spot by losing but it was just passing the Raiders
28. RAIDERS: it’s not PC but since he won’t sell and he won’t relinquish control, this team will not succeed until Al Davis is dead (one win happened under the old coach so SEA can pass you after a home shut-out)
29. 49ERS: how can you not be interested in what Singletary is going to show us this week on MNF?…wait, on second thought
30. BENGALS: Unbelievable
31. CHIEFS: Hey Carl, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy
32. LIONS: just click this– http://www.nfl.com/teams/profile?team=DET– and read the headlines on the left, obits are more uplifting

Do you really think that the Bucs are better than both the Cards and the Eagles? I’m not saying that the Cards should be in the top 5 (I’m not that much of a homer), at least, not until they begin winning more road games. But, if the Cards went up against the Bucs, who do you really think would win that game?

I will agree 100% with your Dallas comment. The Cards exposed the Cowboys and Bills…well, when it comes to Dallas, it’s more putting Romo on the shelf than anything…but I digress. That’s something Clancy Pendergast has done most of his career here. He did it first against Michael Vick, and he has done it with Dal. and Buf.. Whis/Haley/Warner have all shown (with the exception of the Jets game), that they can also expose the opposing teams defenses as well. Now if the team can learn to play all 4 quarters and quit the mental mistakes at the end, this could be a special team.
