Here’s what happened Tuesday on Doug and Wolf:
Paul Calvisi and Tony Femino filled in for the guys…
All Cards on the table
After another dismal performance against a quality opponent, Cards HC Ken Whisenhunt isn’t taking any chances or giving anymore second ones. Whiz says everyone will be held accountable, and that a few starters could be benched if their play does not improve. Paul says G Deuce Lutui and a couple defensive lineman should be worried. Tony isn’t too worried about this week against the Seahawks, and thinks this may just be a clever cover for Whiz to rest some of his guys before the playoffs begin next weekend.
FEST
Yesterday it was FFT (Femino’s Flagstaff Theory), today it was FEST- Femino’s Economic Stimulus Theory. Yes, with the economy in such sad shape, and discounts and almost every retail outlet readily available, Tony doesn’t understand why sports is exempt from giving the fans a financial reprieve. Paul understand why: Because sports fans will keep paying! Case and point: this weekend at University of Phoenix Stadium will mark the Cards 30th sellout in 30 tries.
Poinsettia Bowl
Tonight’s Poinsettia Bowl might be the best the college post-season has to offer. Paul won’t be watching, however; Not until the college post-season produces a true national champion. Tony feels that teams like Boise State could bring about that change, and that BCS busters like Boise and Utah need more support (and wins) to bring a playoff system to the college ranks.
Guests:
Steve Kerr, Suns GM
Kerr believes the Suns are starting to see results from the Jason Richardson trade, and that he is already seeing some results on the practice court which was lacking energy a few weeks back.
Herb Sendek, ASU basketball coach
ASU Basketball HC- Sendek talked out Saturday’s thrilling win over BYU, and briefly previewed Tuesday’s afternoon matchup against Idaho State.

I LOVE THE CARDINALS! They SUCK. I’ve been trying the best a person can do to support the Cards. I’m watching the game today (Cardinals vs Seahawks) and I am seriously debating on never watching another sporting event again. I may start communicating with the wife and watching chick flicks. If my high school football coach was in charge of this team today, he would have the overpaided spoiled players running laps around the field during halftime. I would suggest having two strong lineman (may have to borrow from the seahawks) hold up the COACH and let every player on the team take a running tackle at him until he understood that someone is not leading this team in a professional manner. Considering how the Cards are hitting today that may take a while. I miss real football. I would love to see a coach attack one of these overpaid spoiled brats until someones nose was bleeding. One display of tough serious unconditional coaching would have such a tremendous impact on these brats. Sorry, thanks for listening. I feel much better. My quote of the day, “Someones nose needs to bleed before the playoffs”! I don’t care if the owner sucker punches the coach during a press conference. I think that would be the play of the decade.
