Here’s what happened Monday on Doug and Wolf:
Daron Sutton, Diamondbacks Announcer was in for Ron Wolfley today
* Curt Schilling announced his retirement via his blog yesterday. Is Curt Schilling a Hall of Famer? Doug: “He has too low of a win total to be considered, even with 3,000 strikeouts.” Daron: “He is absolutely a Hall of Famer, the fact that he performed the way he did during the steroid era, he was simply one of the best pitchers of his time with a huge post season upside”
* Suns had a impressive win over the Nuggets last night beating them 118-115. Is this Cinderella story over? Doug thinks: “It is just too little too late for the Suns”
* Leandro Barbosa is listed to be out 1-3 weeks but he said recently that he will not be on the Suns last road trip. Doug: “So basically he won’t be back for at least 2 weeks”
Grid Iron Griddle:
According to ESPN.com NFL owners voted Monday to modify the schedule to ease the burden of cross-country road trips. Under the new plan east coast teams would not have to make the trip out west more than once a year. Is this east coast bias by the NFL?
Doug agrees that there might be something to it, even though he usually doesn’t agree with these types of biases.
