Here’s what happened Tuesday on Doug and Wolf:
* NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday the league was discussing the possibility of staging the first round of the 2010 draft on a Thursday evening on primetime TV. Do you think this is a good move? Wolf doesn’t… “I feel like this is going to be Kathy Griffin esque…Its not broken why try to fix it, keep it on the weekend” Doug says: “Right move for Goodell’s goals, it will increases ratings, screws fans.”
* D-backs had a couple of firsts last night against the Cubs. Dan Haren pitched the first complete game giving up only three hits and walking zero! Chris Snyder hit his first home run of the season and the D-backs won back-to-back games for the first time this season. Also, the D-backs stole 5 bases last night which almost equaled their season total of 6. Doug: “I loved their aggressive nature on the base paths and I think that Mark Reynolds had his best game of the season.”
*Mike Leach strikes again, yesterday he was criticizing Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns today it is the Dallas Cowboys and their 4th round selection, Quarterback Stephen McGee from Texas A&M. “The Dallas Cowboys like him more than his coaches at A&M did,” Leach said.
Wolf thinks: “He had to say this to defend his program and system. He needs to be able to get recruits to want to come to Texas Tech and be a quarterback for him.”
Grid Iron Griddle:
Eben Britton, Arizona’s All-Pac-10 offensive tackle said this after being drafted in the second round (39th overall). “I’m extremely (upset) about not being taken in the first round, I’m the most underrated player in this draft. I will lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Super Bowl.”
Wolf: “This guy is going to have dirt on his face, blood in his mouth, and a target on his back, he doesn’t need to worry about the games he is just going to have to worry about practice. It’s OK to think that but don’t say it, the level of stupidity here is staggering.”
Guests:
Kevin Spencer, Cardinals Special Teams Coach: Kevin talked about the 9 free agents the Cardinals signed and how they will affect the special team’s roster
Dave Pasch, Voice of the Cardinals: Dave analyzed the Cardinals 2009 draft picks.
