Sold out crazy crowd

Here’s what happened Monday on Doug and Wolf:

* The Cards played to a sold out crowd on Saturday as LaRod Stephens-Howlings broke away for an 89-yeard kick-off return. Is the rookie running back the next big thing for this team?

* The D-backs only win one of three against Houston this weekend. Chris Young seems to be doing well in the minors but Eric Byrnes continues to struggle. Will the Eric Byrnes show broadcast live from “the world’s biggest city”?

* Monday is the 20th anniversary of Pete Rose receiving a lifetime ban from baseball. Will he ever be reinstated?

* It’s being reported that Shaq’s new reality series “Shaq vs.” was really thought of by Steve Nash apparently causing a rift in the Suns’ locker room.

* Jerry Jones explains how to punt a football.

Grid Iron Griddle:

The Cards lost their first home preseason game against the Chargers 17-6. Saturday’s game was the first at the University of Phoenix Stadium since the NFC championship game last January. The sold out crowd was so excited to see their team that they booed the third string quarterback Brian St. Pierre. What are your expectations for this season?

Guests:

Cards’ Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt: Coach Whisenhunt discussed the Cards’ preseason loss to the Chargers at home on Saturday. He still doesn’t think his team is getting the respect from other NFL teams.
