Doug and Wolf: September 27, 2007

Here’s what happened today on Doug and Wolf:

* What’s going on with the D-Backs? Are the kids finally gripping? We take calls from D-Back fans. Why was Livan in for so long?

* The NL pennant race is a mess. DW has no idea who’s going to be playing in the postseason. Will the Rockies ever lose again?

* We react to what the Suns are saying about Shawn Marion wanting to be traded.

* How should the city or the state honor “The Godfather of Phoenix Sports”, Jerry Colangelo. The popular opinion is a street, but no one can figure out when.

Grid Iron Griddle:

Doug & Wolf go through the top college football games of the weekend. The biggest game of the week could be on Friday when West Virginia takes on South Florida. Wolf thinks his ‘Neers could be in trouble.

Guests:

Wolf’s brother and Steelers Radio Analyst Craig Wolfley: Craig talked about what the Steelers and the media are saying about facing Whisenhunt and Grimm. The older Wolf gave us some insight on the Wolfley family appetite.

ESPN college football analyst Bob Davie: Bob thinks that Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy crossed the line and went too far with his comments. We give Davie props for his Michigan pick over Penn State. Coach Davie is not impressed with the Big 10 overall.

D-Backs play-by-play voice Greg Schulte: Greg joined us an hour before the first pitch. Even though they have lost three in a row, Schulte says the clubhouse was still upbeat today.

Tomorrow’s Show:

Mark Schlereth, ESPN NFL Analyst at 8:00 a.m.
