Doug & Wolf NFL Power Polls Week 14

Things get weird when Doug & Wolf head to Tucson. In their NFL Power Polls for week 14 they actually agreed. On everything. Both polls one through five are identical. Someone’s (Wolf) poll only changed one spot and that was the last spot. While Doug went New York New York last week he decided that losing at home against an AFC West opponent wasn’t going to cut it.

Doug & Wolf NFL Power Polls Week 13

The top spot in both Doug and Wolf’s NFL Power Polls is in agreement. After that there is not a lot similarities between the two polls. The Titans finally lose a game, at home nonetheless, and Wolf keeps him right where he has had them for the past six weeks. Doug punished them a little bit more and likes both New York teams in his Power Poll. The guys, of course love to give their disagreements while talking about their Power Polls.

Doug’s Power Poll - Week 13

1. GIANTS: lose Burress, lose Jacobs, win road game…Eli’s best receiver is 52nd in the league yet he’s 9th in passer rating
2. JETS: Talk about the offense all you want but the defense is 3rd against the run, forcing teams to the pass, which leads to low TOP, which leads to more Favre…I guess it does go back to Brett
3. TITANS: vGB 178 yds rushing, combined rush yds in 3 games since = 179
4. BUCS: not happy with 21-0 deficit to DET in 1st quarter but impressed something was done about it
5. PANTHERS: lost to a good team because of special teams, I can live with that
6. STEELERS: you don’t move when you beat the Bengals unless there’s massive upheaval above you
7. PATRIOTS: lose Crennel, Mangion, Weiss, Samuel and Brady, but sit tied for #5 seed and a trip to crush DEN in playoffs…the man is the greatest coach of all time
8. CARDINALS: only 3 penalties and only one sack given up?…that’s a good team coming to Philly
9. FALCONS: enormous win vCAR but you’d be in power poll you’d have finished off DEN
10. REDSKINS: 160 more yds, 4 fewer penalties, 1 less turnover and only a 3 point win @SEA…when will this team learn to put people away?
11. COLTS: 11 games into the season and the IND is +3 in point differential
12. COWBOYS: if someone with a head and heart had T. O.’s talent
13. RAVENS I should have seen it coming that you could beat PHI…I’m still not impressed with you but I’ll give you a small recantation
14. BEARS: Forte looked strong again and they should be 8-5 soon…now, about that loss last week
15. DOLPHINS: I’ve already picked a HOU 3 game winning streak and was right, now for my next trick, MIA goes 4-1 to end the season
16. VIKINGS: JAX fumbled 5 times and threw 2 picks…normally I’m not impressed when you beat a team that’s falling apart, since MIN’s been the team falling apart sometimes this year I should give them some room
17. SAINTS: @TB, vATL, @CHI…in other words this is the highest we’ll be seeing NO for a while
18. BILLS: BUF fans, the win only counts as one half since it was @KC
19. BRONCOS: the NFL should be embarrassed if this team makes the playoffs
20. PACKERS: have you guys heard what Brett is doing in NY?
21. EAGLES: I wrote two weeks ago “I think McNabb is a good guy and a loser at the same time”…I would like you to know I’m not an arrogant person but every week I do the power poll I seem to be more right than the week before (now would be the time for you to bring up the whole NYG v TEN thing)
22. JAGUARS: Del Rio has failed miserably with this team and John Clayton predicted the whole thing and I still haven’t figured out how he knew
23. TEXANS: you know how coaches say “if I had 10 more players like him…” well HOU is proving that to be an untrue statement because there are only about 5 teams with more heart and about 28 with more talent
24. CHARGERS: it is impossible to know so little about clock management and to have reached the point that Norv Turner has
25. BROWNS: Hey Crennell, you just named Brady your starter so get out of the way and let him start…it’s time to bench Crennell
26. RAIDERS: I haven’t changed my opinion about Al Davis but after that win they deserve a reprieve for a week
27. 49ERS: name all the players, coaches, and GM’s you want, the fish still rots from the head
28. RAMS: do you wish you hadn’t fired Mike Martz now?
29. SEAHAWKS: judging by the stats I don’t understand how the game vWSH was so close
30. BENGALS: can’t receivers just play the game without playing games?
31. CHIEFS: if you constantly evaluate your staff, when do you evaluate yourself Carl?
32. LIONS: how’s your baseball team, your football team, your college football team?…at least the Wings are the #2 seed right now

Doug & Wolf: NFL Power Polls

Chick Picks & NFL Power Polls

The Click Chick has moved into a tie for first place in Chick Picks. By next Monday she will be either be up a game or down a game as she was the only one to pick a road underdog this weekend. Wolf has dropped back two games while Doug is supposedly letting Gayle hang around.

Still disagreements and still no change at the top of the NFL Power Polls. The hometown Cardinals are on the outside lurking around as #1, or #2 depending on whose poll you look at, come visit the desert this Sunday. Next week’s polls are sure to be shook up. The week by week look at the polls can be seen here.

Doug’s Power Poll - Week 12

1. TITANS: Collins is not just managing games, he’s winning them
2. GIANTS: one NY team is @ number one and this one is @ number 7…I know it’s cheesy but are you ready for some football
3. PANTHERS: Delhomme has been awful the last two weeks…that better change or the next two weeks are losses @ATL and @GB
4. BUCS: +9 in sacks and 4th in scoring defense and Garcia is last in interceptions…can we start to take this team a little more seriously please?
5. STEELERS: since this is Pac-10 country you probably already know but I think we should all learn how to spell P-O-L-A-M-A-L-U
6. JETS: I haven’t been this excited for a NYJ game since…since
7. CARDINALS: : I’m very interested in how the TOP will be with the great running game of NYG and the lack of one from AZ
8. PATRIOTS: I think everyone knew that NE and IND would battle for playoff position, but did you think that position would be the 6 seed?
9. REDSKINS: when you sign a contract to play O-line for WSH you have a reputation to uphold…these are no hogs
10. COLTS: @SD next week will end the season of the loser
11. COWBOYS: defense was great since almost all the WSH 3rd down conversions happened on one drive…how long will TO accept 5 catches and no TD’s?
12. DOLPHINS: you’re not good enough to just show up and win…OK, you are against OAK but not anyone else
13. BRONCOS: this team is either really good out of all the bad teams or really bad about of all the good ones
14. FALCONS: I don’t care how bad you were last year or what you’ve accomplished this year, you have no excuse to lose to Denver
15. PACKERS: giving up almost 150 rush y/g eliminates any chance of me believing they belong in any category other than “someone’s got to win the NFC North”
16. EAGLES: I wrote last week “I think McNabb is a good guy and a loser at the same time”…do you ever get the feeling I could predict the end of the world (I’d hate to see if the end of the world is a tie)
17. RAVENS: the fun and games are over now so you can make your January plans
18. BEARS: I really believe Lovie’s a good coach but there’s fewer people on the boat with me
19. VIKINGS: we’ve all been trained that you must be able to run the football and stop the run…MIN is 4th in rush offense, 2nd in rush defense, and a .500 team
20. JAGUARS: huge loss to TEN because next 3 are very winnable (vMIN, @HOU, @CHI)…through exhaustive research, statistical analysis, and discussions with NFL insiders I’ve discovered this is an average team
21. CHARGERS: Can we finally put the coaching career of Norv Turner to rest?
22. SAINTS: Interesting PIT is on top of all the defensive categories and NO is on top of most offensive categories…they’re also in different spots on the power poll
23. BROWNS: almost became the first team in NFL history to lose 3 straight while possessing a lead of over 13 pts in the game
24. BILLS: WIDE RIGHT!…now where have I heard that before?
25. TEXANS: last year good record outside the division and 0-6 in it while this year it’s 3-3 outside and 0-4 inside…solution: move the franchise to LA and force re-alignment
26. 49ERS: there’s the Vernon Davis thing, the reporter asking about Walsh and the underwear thing one week, then there’s the getting in subs while needing to stop the clock the next week…are you telling me that it was just football this weekend?
27. RAMS: how do WSH and DAL feel about STL?
28. SEAHAWKS: our CFB team is better, our MLB team is better, our NFL team is better, and our NBA team is, well, still here…and better
29. BENGALS: why do you play your heart out against the NFC East and no one else?
30. RAIDERS: it’s not PC but since he won’t sell and he won’t relinquish control, this team will not succeed until Al Davis is dead (is 156 passing yards an improvement or disappointment, I have trouble remembering where the bar is)
31. CHIEFS: don’t blame the players, they’re not good…don’t blame the coach, he didn’t hire himself
32. LIONS: are they included in the auto industry bail out?

Chick Picks & NFL Power Polls

The Click Chick joined Doug & Wolf to make the Chick Picks. The college game picked this week was a little off the wall. The Click Chick went against her alma mater, and she hopes her pick is wrong because of it. The NFL games had everyone taking the “Cheese Heads” but the Sunday night game had Doug ending up mad at Yoda because he didn’t like the game.

In Doug & Wolf’s Power Polls there wasn’t much change at the top because the top teams in the NFL keep winning, convincingly.

Doug Wolf
1. Titans 1. Giants
2. Giants 2. Titans
3. Panthers 3. Panthers

5. Patriots 5. Steelers

Chick Picks & Power Poll Audio

The Click Chick gained a game on all the guys after the Texas Longhorns dismantled the Missouri Tigers. The standings are getting tighter with Doug at 11-8, Wolf 10-9, and Click Chick 9-10. This week in the Chick Picks Wolf is the only person that took a game different than the other two, and that (of course) was because it’s the team he can’t go against.

It never fails. Doug disagrees with Wolf’s Power Poll. Wolf all of sudden is giving a team credit for what they did last year in his NFL Power Poll.

Doug Wolf
1. Titans 1. Giants
2. Steelers 2. Titans
3. Giants 3. Steelers
4. Bucs 4. Bills
5. Panthers 5. Panthers

Doug’s NFL Power Poll - Week 8

1. TITANS: : very difficult stretch before Thanksgiving but they give up only 11 points a game
2. STEELERS: they’ve earned this spot but they’re about to lose it…injured team goes through vicious stretch vNYG, @WSH, vINDY, vSD
3. GIANTS: 1st in rushing offense and 5th in rushing defense…the next break in the schedule is @ MIN and that’s after Christmas
4. BUCS: every time I try to move this team down, they win…@DAL this week and I’m dying to know what that means
5. PANTHERS: if they just would have shown up against TB the poll would be much easier…I don’t think anyone realizes the number one scoring offense in the NFL is coming (yea, it’s AZ)
6. BILLS: every game they win just sticks me in the back when I knew to pick them as the AFC #6 seed and I choked
7. REDSKINS: I’m not happy with a weak performance vCLE, only one more joke before MNF vPITT
8. JAGUARS: just do what you’re supposed to do and you’re 6-3 (vCLE, @CIN, @DET) before your home showdown vTEN…suspensions drop them in the poll
9. PATRIOTS: offense looked great against bad defense but I’m still shocked a Belichik led defense is allowing 313 a game
10. CARDINALS: as the weeks go by, the BUF win will be bigger on paper than the DAL win…win @CAR and you’ve arrived
11. COLTS: completely unacceptable for this team to be 32nd in rushing and to be embarrassed by GB before @TEN, vNE, @ PIT
12. COWBOYS: and we all fall down
13. EAGLES: after scoring 23 in the 4th v SF, finished with a brutal stretch to start the season at 3-3 and still have 5 games in the gift category remaining…only three teams average more points per game while the defense is up to 7th, this team ain’t bad
14. CHARGERS: it’s really rather simple win in London and you’ll catch DEN in the West, lose and you won’t…it’s only your entire season
15. JETS: both SD and DEN are on the East Coast so whoever handles road has leg up…DEN @ NE and SD on the East Coast of Lake Erie
16. BRONCOS: remember when Marshall and Royal were all the rage after they both had 100 yard games in week 1 & 2?…they’ve had 1 combined ever since
17. PACKERS: very impressive versus vINDY but the stats say you can’t run and you can’t stop the run, that says the beat down @TEN is coming
18. FALCONS: big congratulations to this franchise for their 4-2 record, too bad they’ve only got two wins left
19. BEARS: two bye weeks, one this week and one vDET next week…they’re not real good but no one else in the North is either, I think it’s Orton in the playoffs over Rogers
20. RAVENS: in a four-way tie for the 6th seed which is good, tied with NYJ, INDY and JAX which is bad…BTW, AFC North plays the NFC East this year and BAL still has all four of those games left
21. SAINTS: see number 14, just ignore the whole DEN part and concentrate on the “win in London” part and the “your entire season” part
22. VIKINGS: you ever walk out of a meeting and think, “that was a waste of time?”…well it’s something like that
23. RAMS: fire your coach, win two straight…get adjusted to your new head coach, lose 3 straight
24. BROWNS: 30th in offensive scoring and yards…Winslow is just offensive
25. DOLPHINS: if I pull off the prediction of a HOU 3 game winning streak, you’re taking me to Vegas
26. RAIDERS: it’s not PC but since he won’t sell and he won’t relinquish control, this team will not succeed until Al Davis is dead (12 teams in a row from the west have lost the 1p ET game on the other coast, are you predicting OAK to end that?…me neither)
27. TEXANS: if I pull off the prediction of a HOU 3 game winning streak, you’re taking me to Vegas
28. 49ERS: Last week I wrote: I thought Tommy Bowden would last longer than Nolan…so I was only off by a week, I’d say that’s impressive
29. CHIEFS: they’re actually worse than the bottom three but the W over DEN keeps them “high”
30. SEAHAWKS: after watching SEA, WASU and UW this weekend, I now know why the Sonics left
31. LIONS: ranked 22nd in passing yards, I didn’t think you cared but they’re worse than 27th in every other stat so I tried to find a positive
32. BENGALS: have you ever seen a really ugly couple and thought, “I’m glad they found each other?” check out the last game on the Bengals schedule

Chick Picks & Power Poll Audio

The Click Chick went with the Texas Longhorns and they prevailed against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday. All three of them took the Panthers and they didn’t even score a touchdown in Tampa Bay. She did take the Ravens who did not show up in Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. The Chick Picks this week have the Click Chick staying with those Texas Longhorns. And the pro game there is no difference. All three agree on home teams.

Once again Doug & Wolf’s NFL Power Polls have disagreements. Especially at the top of the poll. Doug didn’t even want Wolf to be able to finish the segment he was so dissapointed in Wolf’s choice.
