Here’s what happened Tuesday on Doug and Wolf:

* Did the Saints show last night on MNF that they are the best team in the NFL?

* Where would the Phillies be without Chase Utley and Cliff Lee? The World Series is now 3-2 with Pedro going for the Phillies in game six.

* Are the Suns going to get exposed in the next week on their big East Coast road trip?

Rumors have Oregon reinstating LeGarrette Blount this week. Is that a good move?

Guests:

Dennis Erickson, ASU Football Coach: Coach Erickson said that the loss to Cal was very tough on him and his team, but they will bounce back. Even though Oregon ran all over them, Erickson still sees the USC defense as a tough test.

Tim Kempton, Suns Radio Analyst: Tim thinks that they Suns won’t get a exposed as a bad team on this east coast road trip. He has them coming home with a winning record.

Here’s what happened Monday on Doug and Wolf:

LIVE from Cardinals Headquarters in Tempe

* Yankees rallied to a victory in the 9th inning against the Phillies last night. They now lead the series 3-1. Will Cliff Lee even the playing field tonight, or will the Yankees reach lucky 27?

* The Cardinals had a disappointing loss to the Panthers at home yesterday 34-21. They were sloppy on both sides of the ball. When is this merry-go-round going to end?

* The Suns won against the Timberwolves bringing their record to 3-0. Will the Suns continue their perfect winning streak?

*Brett Favre’s homecoming was filled with cheers and jeers. Did Favre deserve to get booed?

Grid Iron Griddle:

What is going on with Oregon? How did they look so horrific against Boise State? Example of a case where they made the right decision as who they hired as head coach.

Guests:

Eric Allen, ESPN NFL Analyst: Allen said that the Cardinals were a skilled but streaky team, but he thinks Coach Whisenhunt is doing a great job. He discussed how Favre decision to be with the Vikings was the worst thing that could ever happen. Allen also said that he believes the Broncos are for real. He was disappointed about the Sun Devils loss as well.

Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals Head Coach: Coach spoke about the Cardinals loss yesterday. He said that everyone was disappointed and how the team does not want to lose at home anymore. He also discussed not replacing Warner and minimizing mistakes. He wants the team to start to play more confidently.

Luis Gonzalez, Former D-backs Great: Gonzalez shared his thoughts about the 2001 World Series. He also gave his opinions of the Yankees and Phillies match up for this 2009 World Series.

*The Phillies won game 1 of the World Series behind the brilliance of Cliff Lee.

*Suns win a nail biter in their season opener against the LA Clippers. We know it’s game one, but when you only beat the Clippers by two, are you worried about the ’09-’10 season?

* Favre returns to Lambeau. Should Packers’ fans boo or cheer for number 4?

Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin has been fighting injury this season. Yoda is convinced that a healthy Jeremy Urban is a better option than a banged up Anquan Boldin. Would you rather have Jeremy Urban at 100% or an Anquan Boldin banged up?

JON BARRY, ESPN NBA Analyst: Jon gave his insight on the Suns and the rest of West. He also discussed the Cavaliers with the addition of Shaq.

LARRY BOWA, Dodgers 3rd Base Coach: Coach talked about Cliff Lee’s performance in game one of the World Series. He said the Yankees are in serious  trouble if they don’t get a win tonight.

Al McCOY, Voice of the Phoenix Suns: Al gave a recap of the Suns’ season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Suns tip off the season

Here’s what happened Wednesday on Doug and Wolf:

* The Suns open the season tonight against the Clippers. They will try to make it back to the playoffs after falling short last season. Are the Suns headed in the right direction?

* Doug and Wolf talk about Yankees and Phillies World Series weather conditions. Will rain cause delays? Where is Bud Selig to address the weather issues?

* Are the Steelers a top 5 NFL team? Wolf has them five in his power poll and Doug thinks he’s crazy.

The Cardinals proved themselves after their big win against the Giants. Which Cardinals team will show up for Sunday’s game?

Bob Davie, ESPN College Football Analyst: Davie talked about how good Iowa is even though there is nothing “sexy” about them. He also discussed the Big 10 and how it is not respected. Davie said that LSU is the sleeper team to watch.

Al McCoy, Suns Hall of Fame Broadcaster: McCoy previewed tonight’s Suns opener against the Clippers.

Steve Kerr, Suns General Manager: Kerr says that the team doesn’t feel as ready as they should. He also said that this season will be a great one for the fans to watch players grow and develop.

* Texas Tech Head Football Coach Mike Leach made controversial comments about his players “fat little girlfriends.”

* Not only did the Cards capture the win Sunday, but the offensive line was able to protect Kurt Warner. Will the protection continue?

* The NBA kicks off tonight and the World Series starts tomorrow. How long before the World Series finishes at Thanksgiving?

Here’s what happened Monday on Doug and Wolf:

* Cardinals won 24-17 against the Giants at New York. This was definitely a big win for the team. Will the newly confident Cardinals continue their winning streak?

* Several NFL teams had something to prove this week and most of them delivered. Who made the biggest statement in the NFL this week?

*Yankees clinched the ALCS title last night against the Angels and are set to face the Phillies in the World Series. Can the Yankees make 27 their new lucky number?

Grid Iron Griddle:

Doug and Wolf talked about the BCS standings. Boise State might be left out due to poor ratings. BCS must take highest ranked teams.

Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals Head Coach: Coach did a special interview on the plane with Paul Calvisi and Wolf. He talked about the team’s big win against the Giants and talked about Beanie and Warner. He also talked about the team’s bond and how they have a great deal of trust in one another.

Here’s what happened Friday on Doug and Wolf:

* The Cardinals are playing on Sunday Night Football once again, this time in the Big Apple against the 5 and 1 New York Giants. Can they get the win?

* The Phillies await their World Series opponent, but not so fast. The Angels won a dramatic Game 5 to send the series back to the Bronx forcing a Game 6. Will the Yankees lose if the Angels force a Game 7?

* The pitching rotation for the Diamondbacks just got even more complicated. Top pitching prospect Jarrod Parker is going to undergo Tommy John Surgery. Bet on the D-backs bringing back Brandon Webb.

ASU is just arriving into the heart of their Pac 10 schedule. The Pac 10 has proved that it is a worthy BCS conference. This is a Fulcrum weekend for the Pac 10.
