Two thumbs WAAAY down on Universal Health care! I believe a closer look should be taken on how “out of hand” malpractice lawsuits (and their subsequent awards) have gotten. The alleged “fair and just” compensation has spiraled out of control causing malpractice insurance to become ridiculously high. These high rates are billed back to the public in the form of higher and higher fees, which, in turn, force our insurance rates to rise. It’s an endless and vicious circle. Ultimately, we need to focus on making the existing system more affordable yet maintain “healthy” competition. In my opinion, moving more towards socialized medicine is the wrong direction.
