In regard to the Cheesecake Factory harrasment case, the young man probably stuck it out as long as he could because of the promise of advancement up the management ladder in the Cheesecake Family. They have a lucrative program if you can achieve a management position. They hang a “million dollar” carrot in front of their managers for their performance;between salaries, bonuses and stock options. Very attractive for someone who wants to succeed in the restaurant business. I would bet he finally quit when he realized that his manager and district manager did nothing to protect him or other employees for fear that their jobs would be in jeopardy for allowing such activity in the workplace. The actions of his co-workers and manager are deplorable and no one should have to be subjected to this kind of treatment while trying to earn a living. Why should he have be forced to quit? Why didn’t his manager handle this, rather than walking in on an incident and laughing?
