Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!  Joe will return Monday night at 7!

The Joe Crummey Show–Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Mayor Phil Gordon needs to cut the budget, so he’s asking city employees to make some sacrifices.  Nobody wants to work for less, but maybe people are willing to suck it up in order to get through the current rough patch.  We’ll have more economy talk during tonight’s last hour, too.

Thanksgiving is under attack in California.  There’s a lot of liberal crap that comes out of the state, not including the Crummey Show, of course.

I’ll update you on happenings in St. Johns.  Defense attorneys claim there’s a plan to put their client away until he’s eighteen, and then try him as an adult.

The Joe Crummey Show–Monday, November 24, 2008

Eryn Bloomfield is the birth mother of the young St. Johns murder suspect and she appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America today.  She didn’t come off like the drug-addicted, absentee mother we’ve heard she is.  I’ll let you hear the audio and judge for yourself.

I’m thinking even a stepmom’s Mommy gene gets activated when she invests time in a kid’s life.  So, again, where is stepmother Tiffany Romero?

A Florida family is coping with their teenage son’s suicide, which occurred online while users watched via webcam.  Now, I want you to think about the Internet.  It’s the technological miracle of our time, but does the good outweigh the bad?

The Joe Crummey Show–Friday, November 21, 2008

Breaking news reveals that the eight-year-old suspect in the St. Johns murders might not be charged with the murder of his father.  We’ll try to piece together what would prompt a decision like that.  Is there a bombshell on the way for this case?

We’ll check in once again with Kevin Tripp, who’s still in the town of St. Johns.  He has some observations about the mood there.  I’ll also ask him if he sees evidence of the prevailing drug problem we’ve heard stories of in this little town.

Continuing to follow the bloody double murder, let’s also consider the conspicuous absence of the stepmom. Reports say that she and the dad were a couple for a long time—and that the young suspect called her “Mom.”  Why, then, is she not in court?  Why didn’t she ask for custody of this boy?

The Joe Crummey Show–Thursday, November 20, 2008

Tonight, on The Joe Crummey Show, new info emerges on the St. Johns murders.  We’ll listen to the words of someone close to the situation and, if what she says is true, authorities have more work to do in unravelling this case.

KTAR’s Kevin Tripp reports from St. Johns.  Plus, psychotherapist Stephen Lankton tells us what elements of the taped police interview jumped out at him.

We’ll shift gears and talk about the bailout, as automakers try to convince Uncle Sam to open his purse strings and save their butts.

St. Johns is, obviously, an intriguing case.  You almost can’t keep from speculating about it, so we’ll hear your theories too.

The Joe Crummey Show–Wednesday, November 19, 2008

The eight-year-old St. Johns murder suspect was in court today and so was KTAR. Ankarlo producer and weekend host Rob Hunter joins me as we begin tonight’s show. He’ll give us some details on how the boy presented himself before the judge. We’ll also ask Rob about the next steps for the prosecution.

Monica Lindstrom is a former prosecutor and current defense attorney.  She’ll tell us what the attorneys are thinking and where law enforcement officers may have gone wrong in their investigation.

I’d like you to hear what my son had to say about the case.  He’s the same age as the accused.

Reporter Kevin Tripp was part of KTAR’s team coverage in St. Johns today, too.  He was there when Judge Roca criticized the media’s coverage of the case—and when it was decided the boy would be allowed to go home for Thanksgiving.  What will the court be looking at tomorrow?  He’ll tell us about that as well.

The Joe Crummey Show–Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Tonight, you’ll hear jarring audio of the St. Johns boy accused of killing his dad and another man. It appears to be a confession in this case that has many people shaking their heads.  Channel 3’s Mike Watkiss broke this story and we’ll talk to him as well.

The Joe Crummey Show–Monday, November 17, 2008

Highland High School students are struggling to cope with the death of classmate Kelly Tracy today.  She and her brother were hit by a drunk driver, who also happens to be in the U.S. illegally.  We’ll hear from a student who thinks that “kinda makes it’s worse.”  Well, it does, doesn’t it?  Can’t we come out and say that?

We’ll give you the rundown on Obama’s 60 Minutes interview.  Plus, who says the President Elect isn’t funny?

“Instant jerk; just add alcohol.”  I’ll bet you know someone who fits that description.  In the wake of a death at the hands of a habitual boozer, we’ll be discussing these troubled individuals.

Getting back to the 60 Minutes interview with Barack Obama, they certainly didn’t ignore the subject of possible Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  Obama may be taking a page from Abraham Lincoln and keeping his enemies close!

The Joe Crummey Show–Friday, November 14, 2008

A priest in South Carolina tells parishioners they shouldn’t take Communion if they voted for Obama because he supports abortion.  His church doesn’t seem to be getting behind him, which seems like a glaring contradiction when you consider that Catholic teaching says abortion is murder.

An American Idol wannabe apparently commits suicide outside Paula Abdul’s house.  Sounds like Paula Goodspeed was obsessed with Abdul and went into an emotional tailspin after the panel panned her performance.  So, can we blame the show’s penchant for humiliating contestants?  Maybe we can.

I finally joined Facebook and now the friend requests are coming in like gangbusters.  But, what if I don’t want a zillion friends there?  Maybe there are some perfectly good reasons not to add everyone who asks.

We’re talking bailout tonight, as well, because that’s just the world we’re living in right now.  We’re back on Monday.  Have a great weekend!

The Joe Crummey Show–Thursday, November 13, 2008

The gay community is demonstrating against the Mormon and Catholic churches in the wake of the big hit gay marriage took on election day.  Y’know, the black community played a big part in shooting down same sex unions, too.  I wonder if that would have changed if there were a prominent black figure—and I don’t see one anywhere—who was openly gay.  Where is the black Elton John?

A lot of people have a lot of faith in Barack Obama.  But—man!—with such high expectations and so many issues for him to deal with—I think we’re setting the guy up for failure.

A little kid was walking around on Thomas Road in morning traffic today.  Luckily, a friendly stranger came to her aid before tragedy could strike.  Too bad her parents weren’t paying closer attention to her safety.

Mr. Thomas Beatie is pregnant again, but it’s not the big deal people make it out to be because —stay with me here—Beatie is not a man.

Hillary could be Obama’s pick for Secretary of State.  it makes sense to me:  with Hill out of the country most of the time, Obama will be much safer.

The Hubble Telescope is showing us the first images ever of a planet outside our own solar system!  I’m pretty thrilled and I’ll tell you about it as we wrap up the show.
