Ankarlo Mornings 8-30-07
August 30, 2007
Thursday, August 30, 2007: The conversation about Senator Larry Craig continues on this edition of Ankarlo Mornings. The more Darrell reads about the story, the more he wonders if we should cut the guy some slack. At 9, Darrell reacts to a story on the NBC Nightly News. According to the story, most Russians under the age of 30 view America as the enemy. There is a new nationalism taking root in Mother Russia, while the opposite is happening here in the States. Our kids are being taught that those brilliant Founding Fathers were nothing but slave owners, that we killed the Native Americans and we stole the desert southwest from Mexico. Are we in the middle of the fall of America? At 10, Darrell explores NAFTA for a little while as Mexican trucks will start coming into the US as of Saturday to deliver goods. What kind of goods will be in the back of the uninspected trucks though? The Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, Randy Pullen joins Darrell after that to talk about John McCain and the primary system. And in the final hour, it’s time to focus on our nation’s schools. An eighth grade student was suspended for drawing a picture of a gun. The Director of Public Relations for the Florence Unified School District tells us more.

Tuesday August 28, 2008: So a conservative Republican Senator gets caught with his pants down in a men’s room. Shouldn’t he resign? Listen to today’s edition of Ankarlo Mornings to hear Darrell’s take. Mayor Phil Gordon stops in for his weekly visit pushing Proposition 1. It will raise taxes to pay for more police officers and firefighters in the city. In the ten o’clock hour, Darrell talks to Aviation Expert Mike Boyd from the Boyd Group about safety at Sky Harbor Airport. Also in that hour, Ankarlo confesses that his daughter got a tattoo and he’s a little freaked out about it. The final hour of the show brings a discussion about illegal immigration because the U.S. Border Patrol says it’s not their jobs to stop illegal immigration. So I guess it’s noone’s job. Darrell also talks to terrorism expert Dr. James Carafano from the Heritage Foundation. Should we be worried about another attack?

Thursday August, 23, 07: Another MUST LISTEN to edition of Ankarlo Morning. Darrell started the show calling out other talk show hosts for taking Michelle Obama’s comments out of context. Darrell plays the entire quote. In the 9 o’clock hour, Darrell interviews Dr. Charles Truxillo from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Truxillo believes the southwest United States and northern Mexico will one day become a new state called, La Republica Del Norte. But, the land won’t be conquered, but rather taken over by a slow migration. It’s scary. Is the United States of America about to change forever? You must listen to this interview. You can read one of Dr. Truxillo’s writings here http://www.unm.edu/~ecdn/inevitability.htm , here http://www.unm.edu/~ecdn/ and more about his theory here http://www.unm.edu/~ecdn/tribune.html. In addition, Darrell talks to Skyler Palermo from the Chandler Little League All Stars and his Dad Jason. And in the final hour of the show it’s ironic that Michael Vicks’ remaining dogs will probably be euthanized. Hmm.

Tuesday, August 21, 2007: Darrell gets a little political this morning talking about Senator Hillary Clinton. Also on Ankarlo mornings, a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted at the Playboy Mansion. Shouldn’t one expect that by going there in the first place? Dr. James Shuttleworth from the SAHRA project joins Darrell to talk about the water shortage in the desert Southwest. Just how bad is it going to get? Darrell takes also takes a few minutes to talk about Michael Vick and wonders if behind the global warming push is a movement to control the population. Listen and enjoy!

Friday, August 17, 2007: As Detour Dan always says, “It’s Friiiiday!” And it was another jam packed Ankarlo Mornings. Darrell started by inquiring about mines in Arizona to make some money. After all, there is one for sale on EBay for $99. Though when we called the gentleman hung up on us. A 14-year old has been labeled a sex offender for molesting his 4 year old cousin. Darrell asks if should he be labeled a sex offender for life or should he be forgiven? Speaking of forgiveness, should the NFL and we as fan forgive Michael Vick if he pleads guilty in the dog fighting case? Darrell has some thought on that. He also talks to Malika Dutt from Breakthrough about their new video game called ICED (I Can End Deportation). They and some of you get into a great discussion about immigration. Finally, Darrell talks to Jason and Skylar Palermo. Skylar is on the Chandler Little League team playing in the World Series. Congrats and Good luck!

Thursday August 16, 2007: Have you seen the doctored photo of Sheriff Joe in a KKK outfit being forwarded by Elias Bermudez? It’s nuts. Sheriff Joe joins Ankarlo right at the start of the show to address it. He gets fired up to. It’s a must listen. In the 9 o’clock hour, Darrell talks to Sara Bongiorni, author of a A Year Without Made in China. Sara and her family lived “China Free” for an entire year, meaning they didn’t buy any goods made in China. They had a very difficult time doing it. Could you do the same thing? Or are we too dependent on goods from China? At 10, A bishop in the Catholic Church proposes calling God Allah in order to appease the world and make peace. Would that work? Or is it going too far? Darrell and several callers discuss. And in the final hour of the show, Ankarlo talks to foreign investment advisor, Jose Perez, about buying real estate in Mexico.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007: Darrell doesn’t think the Chandler Police Seargant should be punished after leaving his K-9 in his car. It was just an accident and he is already beating himself up. Some of you disagree. Sgt. Tom Lovejoy’s wife, Carolyn calls in to explain what the family is going through. Mayor Phil Gordon makes his weekly visit to Ankarlo mornings too. During our trip to Mexico we got a first hand look at a border check point on I-19 south of Tucson. The US Border Patrol wants to make this a permanent check point, but there is some opposition from some of the community members. Darrell talks to the spokesperson for the Coalition for Safe and Secure Borders, Carol Cullen. Border Patrol Agent Richard DeWitt explains the Border Patrol’s point of view. Now, that’s fairness! And in the final hour of the show, Darrell congratulates the Chandler Little League team for going to the World Series. But, at the same time wonders if you would give money to help the parents get there. Enjoy!

In the ten o’clock hour, Darrell says all parents who leave their kids in their car should have to attend a parenting class. Darrell wants to call is, Darrell Ankarlo’s stupid parent class. Any other ideas? And in the final hour of the show, is Senator Barack Obama black enough? Just what does that mean exactly, anyways?
