Ankarlo Audio: Mon Oct 29, 2007

October 30, 2007

There is no other way for Darrell to start off today’s show than by celebrating the Boston Red Sox World Series victory with his producer Rob and Arizona’s Morning News anchor Ned Foster. Darrell gets a little taste of Boston!

Over the weekend, Darrell stopped by Pruitt’s furniture to face off with the immigration activists. Other than being almost arrested and watching his wife verbally battle it out with the protesters it was uneventful. New York state is also moving forward with allowing illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses. The irony there is obvious.

At ten o’clock it is on to politics. The first primary votes will be cast in just over 2 months and the numbers are in. More and more voters in Arizona are registering as “other” and bucking the two-party trend. Ben Smith from Politico.com drops in to explain why.

In the final hour, find out just how easy it is for people to get a fake ID in the United States. Saud Leija joins Darrell. She runs this website and used to deal in fake documents with her family. She has turned a corner though and is co-operating with the government to put some of these criminals away.

In the final part of the show, Darrell reminisces about breakfast cereals from his youth.

    Darrell,
I must tell you, after todays show I am beginning to rethink this immigration battle. When Hillary becomes President, lets all move to mexico and change it into the country that we once were. Lets take the place over and give our children a free country to live in whare they can have life liberty and the pursuit of happieness. Because under Hillary there is no life and our liberty will be gone, and equal distributation of welth will in no way make us happy. Darrell you others like you will be gagged and the truth will not told. We are heading for a dark day in America. For the first time in 40 years I am afraid for my country.

  2. Juan on October 30th, 2007 8:47 pm

It’s okay to be afraid Dan, at least that’s what your grandmother would say, right. Where’s Johnny hates Rapp or more like Johnny hates himself, is that guy still hiding under a rock because he is ashamed of who he is. What’s a matter with you guys. Giving up on this country already. Moving to Mexico because your afraid of what might happen or is the real reason is because your afraid to fight. No retreat,no surrender thats the American way. Dan I am going to let you in on a little secret regarding the dark days ahead. America is the dark cloud that brings the storm to the country or countries that mess with us. Do you think the old man in Reno was afraid when he took down the American flag because it was being flown below the Mexican flag. No, his exact words were ” If the want this flag back, they will have to fight me for it”. A true Patriot and guess what, our numbers are vast and we are through the country. Dan, just for future reference, you might want to think a little before speak or write.

  3. Juanote on October 30th, 2007 11:11 pm

This is Johnny Hates Rapp. I was raised in Mexico as a child. Mi familia are highly established and educated there in Mexico. Many would come to us for help or tutoring. Mi familia didn’t just start popping babies out like rabbits. Mi familia would homeschool us right after we got home from school. Nuestro familia crosses the borders legally. Your number are vast but what can you do. Your vast numbers couldn’t do a thing for Mexico now you want to make changes here? Mexico sucks that is why you are here. Mexican are still poisoning themselves with pottery that is painted with lead paint base. Oh that is real smart Juan. Mexico is a third world nation and your vast numbers won’t do a damn thing about. Your vast numbers are a bunch of drunks and quitters. Take Mexico back for La Raza, you pathetic fool.

I am getting so sick, of this immigration. I think they need to shut down the borders. My several reasons “why”? we need to shut down the borders, we have several drug dealers, terriost and several illegals that come through are borders, and have their babies here, so they can collect welfare, and sit on their butts and do nothing. I am American with Hispanic/Spanish descent. My parents, aunts, cousins are not from Mexico.
All my uncles and my brother that have fought in several wars, (deadly wars). I work hard to pay for my taxes, for my fellow americans, not someone to bring there corrupt life here. My husband join the military to serve his country and his people, not the illegals. I am not going to pay for their childern to go too school for free, when I have to pay for my childern to go too college. “Why”? Should I have to pay for medical bills when they get it for free.
The driver lic. situation, it is a right to have a driver’s lic., you need to be citizen of the United States to have license.

they might have a drivers license but they sure as heck won’t have insurance!! That is a huge problem in Az. Even the legals don’t have insurance.

  6. Dan Wiggin on October 31st, 2007 7:08 pm

    Juan,
Let me ask you a question. What are you doing right now to make a difference? Tell me what it is that America stands for besides corprate greed and slave labor. I work 70 hours a week and watch my tax money go to illegal alien medical care as well as more prisons which are needed to lock up Mexican National scum bags. Juan I do think before I speak and maybe I misjudged you and for that I apoligize, however the fact still remains we are just talking and not acting. Look Juan when I was a boy in Skowhegan Me, I watched as Dexter shoe company closed its doors and moved to China where they could capitalize on .25 cent labor. My family was forced to move because of no work. Times were no easier in Pennsylvania where I as a boy watched steel mills close and more jobs go to China and now I’m watching my elected politicians give my country to illegal aliens who will work for less than I can aford to live on. I do not make a lot of money (60,000) and in return I get no life. My friend America is no longer the dark cloud that brings rain to its enemies, no infact it has become the yellow cloud that pisses on its people and welcomes its enemies in and gives them a home you and I built. So again juan let me ask, “what are you doing right now to make a difference?”

I am starting to get annoyed and feel highly insulted by our government. Common sense tells you we are not going to be able to fence the entire Mexican border, yet this is suppose to deter mass numbers of illegal immigrants from crossing. These are not mindless people coming across, they will undoubtedly circumvent this wasteful effort in no time at all!
Why do I feel the federal goverment is eluding confrontation with Mexico? This border issue is in line with efforts to protect the U.S. from terrorism, (as well as trying to enforce already established laws for citizenship). What’s the problem?
Why are we at war in a country thousands of miles away in the name of “protecting our nation” from terrorists, when right next door is the possibility of attack by nationalities that can easily blend in with mexicans and have easy access?
Is it NAFTA?, or fear of war on our soil? I am really puzzled! but with no effective resolutions, I am more alarmed than anything! The trucking issue is extremely alarming, whats happening there?

I wanted to comment on the Mother that left her baby in the car yesterday. I have listened to the various comments made by callers. People listen up. It has NOTHING to do with where she worked or what clothes she wears to work. Also please do not compare this incident to the one in Chandler where a police dog that died. One has nothing to do with the other. It has to do with the fact that a young mother left her innocent helpless baby in the car all day long and it DIED. She is negligent. A human life died while in her care. Does anyone care about that? My first thought was that this young woman probably heard about the woman in Ohio (recently) who did pretty much the exact same thing. She supposedly “forgot” her child was in the car when she was on her way to work, left it in the car all day and it died. Did the young woman (here in Phoenix) hear that story and decide to copy it and use that as her excuse for leaving her baby in the car to die? What is happening to our society when it seems like every other day you turn on the news and hear about babies and children drowning, being run over by their parents, being left in cars, etc? This young woman needs to take responsibility for her actions that resulted in the death of her child and if that means going to jail for a long time so she can think about what she did, then so be it. How can anyone put a child in their car and “forget” about them? I cannot even comprehend that in any way, shape, or form. I am a mother myself and could never in a million years even imagine “forgetting” about my child being in the car with me. That is the most ridiculous and unbelievable thing I have ever heard and if we as a society start buying into that then we are no better than she is. Wake up people!

Nearly half the hot-car deaths in the nation are because of parents who simply forgot and left their little ones in the backseat, statistics show.

The death of a 17-month-old, left in the car while his mother worked, is the second such case in the Valley this year, but San Francisco State University meteorology professor Jan Null said it represents a rising trend over the past 10 years.

“This is the 35th death nationwide this year,” Null said. “That’s just about the average over the last 10 years. There have been 357 death of children in hot cars during that time.”

Null said the numbers began to climb when passenger seat airbags became standard in vehicles, and small children were ordered to the backseat.

“Since 1998, that number has risen to an average of 36 per year while the number of airbag fatalities has gone down to zero. So we’ve totally flipped that around. Now, of course, that is not saying we’ll put children back in the front seat.”

Most hot-car deaths of children — 47 percent — result from a caregiver forgetting them in a car, Null said.

“Another 25 percent of the cases are children who are playing in unattended cars. Another 21 percent are when a child is intentionally left in a car, incredible rocket judgment by an adult or caregiver.”

Tuesday’s high temperature in Phoenix was 89, but Null said temperatures climb quickly in cars.

    A. Mexicans breed faster and you don’t get so attached to them.
