Ankarlo: Tue Nov 13, 2007
November 13, 2007
Ankarlo popped down to the Veterans Day Parade yesterday during the end of his show. He had a run in with Spanish language radio station 1190AM Vice President Myra Nieves. Nieves has been making the news lately by complaining about the Chandler rapist being called Hispanic. In any event, before he was able to speak to Nieves one of her people said “Ankarlo hates Latinas.” Of course, this is ridiculous. But, it is a typical talking point response.
Speaking of illegal immigration, have you seen the new Tom Tancredo for President commercial? If not, watch it here. Tancredo says our open borders could lead to terrorism and the video shows a man stuffing something into a backpack walking into a mall. The voice over says “Islamic terrorists now freely roam US soil.” The spot ends with the sound of a bomb. Does it go too far or is it a wake up message we all need to hear?
How about another teacher-student love story. The thirteen year old student is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. The teacher is 25. They both fled south of the border where they were apprehended by police. Now, her lawyer is claiming it’s all the 13-year olds fault because he “groomed” her for this relationship. To top it all off, the student might qualify for a “U” Visa. If he does, he might get to stay in the United States for four years and then apply for permanent citizenship. Why? Because he helped solve the crime. Just another visa only a few knew about? So, if there is a such a visa, no illegals should fear turning in the Chandler rapist, right?
What is the deal with this one? Georgia is in a severe drought and the entire Atlanta area may even run out of water. So Governor Sonny Perdue is calling for people to pray for rain. How come it is only when things get bad people start praying? As one caller says to Ankarlo, we are almost “pimping” God. What a great quote.
Finally today, is the news media biased because we cover illegal immigrant crimes? Do we cover them more than other crimes? FM News/Talk 92.3 KTAR Program Director Russ Hill talks to Darrell about this saying, why wouldn’t we report on an alleged criminal’s status? What do you think? Feel free to use the comment section on this topic or any other.

Darrell,
I wrote to you on Friday and provided the definition of what Hispanic means. In response to what you were encountered with yesterday, this is what I have to say, and you can read it on the air. I’m sure it will offend some people, and to be honest with you, I’m not here for a popularity contest. I’m only going to tell it to you like it is.
No one else will tell say this, but I will. The “attitude” that you got from the woman at the parade yesterday, is very typical of the way Hispanic/Latin women have a tendency to act. Plain and simple! It has become somewhat stereotypical that Hispanic/Latin women are associated with having “attitudes”. For the most part, it’s been a long-standing joke with Hispanic/Latin men, when it comes to that attitude. I hear it all the time, someone saying “man, I’ve got this Hispanic friend and she is all attitude”.
I was born in Puerto Rico and I saw it there, I saw it when I lived in Connecticut, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and even while in the Army and stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia. And as you can see, Phoenix is no different. It doesn’t matter which Spanish-speaking country their heritage is from, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, or Venezuela, to name a few, Hispanic/Latin women have a certain “attitude” about them. I can tell you that there is one common denominator to the whole stereotype, which is you will only find it in women that were raised having an American influence in their life. You won’t find it in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia or Venezuela, but you will find it in Puerto Rico because of the American influence there. You will find it in many of the areas which have large Hispanic populations such as Miami, New York, Chicago, etc. What I mean is that something about having an American influence in their life, combined with being raised in a Hispanic home, along with society and peer relations, causes them to grow up with this “attitude”. My daughter who is 9 years old, and her mother is Caucasian, tried that with me, but this sergeant nipped that in the butt quickly!
If you go to these other Spanish speaking countries, you will find that the women, from a young age, are raised differently than they are in this country. It’s so very obvious that it would shock you. I know that you don’t dislike Hispanic/Latin women so don’t take it personal. But whatever the chip is that some of the Hispanic/Latin women have on their shoulder, they only give a bad name to what is arguably one of God’s greatest creations, the wonderful, beautiful, loving, caring, and sensual human being that is the Hispanic woman.
Argh! Can’t we stay focused, please. Our most critical problem is the criminal facet of the illegal alien issue, NOT Employers of illegal aliens. Do ya think maybe they wouldn’t be working for an employer if they were a threat to us criminally? Why does everyone get side tracked? I understand that these coyotes who are smuggling drugs and humans are scarrier than the employers but people they are the most critical issue and if you don’t think so you’d better keep your head in the sand because it’s a horrible thing that’s going on out here! Get focused on the real issue and quit making other avenues available to take because it’s the easiest thing to do.
Just they way I see it.

Thoughts for the Day
This verse from Proverbs tells us that wickedness in a nation will create a situation where there are many changes in leadership or there are many trying to rule; however, when a wise man rules a nation, it will produce stability. Sin and wickedness produce many problems for societies, one of them being dissatisfaction in the people; and another - rivalry among the leadership. People who are dissatisfied are always looking to the leadership for the needed changes to correct the problems. We all need to realize that the needed changes must start with us as individuals. Every person is responsible for contributing to the betterment of the world, or making it worse by our deeds and actions. Evil people will want leadership that condones their wickedness or allows them to participate in it, while righteous people will want leadership that will control the evil tendencies of society by making and enforcing righteous laws.
There is much discussion about who should make the laws of the land. In the United States of America, our founding fathers were Christians, so the laws of this nation were based on the Word of God. Because of that influence in our national life, we have been blessed as a nation. Everything good that we have been blessed with in our society here in the U.S.A., comes directly or indirectly, from God’s grace and the Bible’s influence. One of the things that I am sure grieves the heart of God is the fact that, instead of people being grateful for all the blessings God has bestowed upon mankind, many blame Him and His followers for the problems in the world.
In our society it seems popular to criticize Christians and blame them for things that really are not their fault. They are even lumped in the same category with cults and weird sects. People should realize there are things that are said and done in the name of Christianity that are not Christian at all. The Bible even warns us of people like that who actually hurt the cause of Christ. When I speak of Christian or Christianity, I am referring to the true believer and the true followers of Christ.
Many people do not realize what the Bible and Christian influence have accomplished for the betterment of our lives, especially here in the United States. They walk around enjoying the good life with its abundance here in free America, without understanding they owe it all to a book they have been taught by many to despise — the Bible. Even some countries who have embraced false religions are blessed in aspects of their societies where they are practicing scriptural principles. The keeping of God’s Word always brings blessing.
It is a well-known fact that our founding fathers in the USA were, for the most part, godly men who used the Bible’s principles to construct our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Any unbiased historian knows that the Bible has had a muchgreater influence in the shaping of the foundation of this nation than is being currently taught in our schools We could lose some of these influences and blessings, if we fail to acknowledge God and bring Him back in the national life of our country, just as Judah fell in the Old Testament. We should pray and vote for godly men and women to rule over us.
The answer to Illegal Aliens vs Undocumented Workers:
Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant”
is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”
Ankarlo,
I’m a new fan of your show.
I tried calling in this morning at 11:30 about the 12 yr old girl beaten and burned to death as well as her sister who was beaten and the baby beaten by her father. The guy answering the phones thought I was asking him a question and said “he didn’t know” and then hung up?
I was trying to ask why the story of a 13 yr old illegal boy and his teacher having a relationship (I will grant you illegal) rates higher as a news story over these 3 children? As a parent myself it seems crazy that our society and news media seem to be more interested in stories about a teachers and students having sexual relationships, than showing more concern about children getting beaten, beaten to death or left in hot cars to die!
End rant! Thank you
pablo…..
