Ankarlo: Mon Dec 10, 2007

December 10, 2007

We are less than a month away from both the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primaries and the campaigns are bringing out the celebrities. Sen. Barack Obama saw Oprah bring record crowds to events in New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina over the weekend. Sen. Hillary Clinton responding by sending her husband to a black church and by brining her daughter out at several campaign stops.

Ankarlo thinks Chelsea has become quite the looker. I think he must have lost his mind simply becuase being Hillary’s daughter excludes her from ever being hot. What do you think? Vote in the Ankarlo poll.

Chelsea

Sorry for the diversion. Back to the campaign trail. The simple question is whether or not Oprah is being racist in supporting Barack Obama. Is she? Ankarlo noticed the different way Oprah talked to the crowds in New Hampshire and Iowa as opposed to South Carolina. Check out today’s podcast after the show to find out exactly what Ankarlo means.

While Oprah and Chelsea were stumping for Obama and Mom the Republicans were taking part in a debate focused on Hispanic issues. Never mind the obvious pandering, let’s bring the issue back home. Federal Judge Neil Wake made a decision on the Arizona Employer Sanctions Law. In nutshell he said the 15 organizations saying the law is unconstitutional are suing the wrong parties. Here is the decision. They were suing the Governor and the Attorney General. Judge Wake the groups should have sued the County Attorneys. So guess, just what the coalition did today. Yes, they sued the County Attorneys.

Here is a list of the groups suing over the Arizona Employers Sanctions Law: The Arizona Contractors Association, The Arizona Employers for Immigration Reform, The Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America, The Arizona Chamber of Commerce, The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Arizona Farm Bureau Federation, the Arizona Restaurant and Hospitality Association, the Associated Minority Contractors of America, the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association, The National Roofing Contractors Association, Wake Up Arizona!, The Arizona Landscape Contractors Association, Chicanos por La Causa and Somos America.

Today’s Holiday Hero is Kristen Martin. Her husband, Sgt. Thomas Martin serves in the Arizona National Guard in Afghanistan. He has been away from home for 19 months; a long time for Kristen and her four boys to go without their dad. She admits, she is one of the lucky ones because she is able to talk to her husband often. But, still Kristen and her family have made tremendous sacrifices. And though, Sgt. Martin is expected home in February this will, but this will be another Christmas without him. Sgt. Thomas Martin and his wife, Kristen, are two of our KTAR Holiday Heroes.

Did you hear that rapper Snoop Dogg has a new TV Show called Father Hood. The show focuses on his family life with his wife and his three kids. But, can Snoop Dogg really be a good parent based on his past? What about because he makes a ton of money in the porn industry? Feel free to comment.
