Is an open border advocate working with McCain?

January 25, 2008

juan hernandezThere are reports out today saying that Dr. Juan Hernandez is John McCain’s “Hispanic Outreach Director.” I have called McCain’s press office to confirm or deny this. But, so far they haven’t answered my question. Here is what we do know. Hernandez is a U.S. born citizen with dual citizenship with Mexico. He served in Former Mexican President Vincente Fox’s cabinet as Director of the Office for Mexicans Living Abroad. Keep in mind, Hernandez was born in Fort Worth, Texas.

In a 2001 interview with Nightline, Hernandez said “We are betting that the Mexican population in the United States will become more and more like the Jewish communty in the United States and the Puerto Rican community in the United States, that they will think Mexico first. And they will invest in Mexico. They’ve already been doing it to great extent…but now I want the third generation, the seventh generation, I want them all to think Mexico first. ” Remember, this guy was born in America. In 2006 on the Fox News Channel, Dr. Juan Hernandez said, “let me remind you the people using false social security numbers are putting in money for you and for me into the social security administration.” So does that make identity theft okay? The bottom line is Hernandez wants more immigrants to come to the United States. On his own website, he writes an article calling for a fix to the broken U.S. immigration system. Hernandez wants temporary guest workers, work visas, a path to citizenship for those who came here illegally, and a reuniting of close family members.

So is this guy working for McCain. Again, no comment yet from the McCain camp. But, here is a photo of Hernandez with McCain advisor Mark McKinnon and McCain’s daughter Meaghan. The photo was taken on December 10, 2007 backstage at the Univision Republican Debate. At the very least, Dr. Hernandez was present inside McCain’s green room at the Spanish language debate. This doesn’t just happen by coincidence.

That is him on the right. Here is a picture from Hernandez’s website. It’s from 1996. And yes that is then Governor of Texas George W. Bush, Hernandez and then Mexican President Vincente Fox.

There is plenty to like about Sen. John McCain. He is an American hero. He has served this country well. He is a leader and proponent on the War in Iraq and he is adamant that government cut spending. But, there is the other side of McCain. The McCain who worked with a very liberal Senator Russ Feingold on legislation to limit political free speech. There is also the McCain who worked with Sen. Ted Kennedy on an immigration reform bill that pretty much amounted to amnesty. Ankarlo asked McCain about the “amnesty

bill” in Iowa back in November. McCain responded by saying “I was never for amnesty” and then went on to say most people who ask me questions are better informed. McCain continues to say he hasn’t changed his position on the border, but if he has hired Dr. Juan Hernandez, an amnesty advocate, one has to wonder what McCain really believes.

Listen to Ankarlo ask McCain about amnesty below.

I pray Darrell that this man does not get elected as our next president. He is dangerous with a capital D. We need to convince the Arizona voters he is the wrong choice to lead our country. He is in bed with people that want to corrupt our government by giving all these illegals special treatment. My vote is going to Romney on February 5th.

Christy you are so right. I am starting to think the white flag McCain waved in Vietnam is the same one he is now waving at the border. The only stripe not on McCains suit is the big yellow one down the middle of his back. I sick and tired of theese guys giving my country away and forgetting who we are. We are not Mexican Nationals nor Canidains. We are Americans and when wego to the poles we need to remember that and vote theese cowards out.

DAYTON, Ohio - Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a woman accused of killing her 1-month-old daughter by burning the child in a microwave oven.

If convicted of aggravated murder, China Arnold, 27, could face the death penalty.

Police investigators believe Arnold killed 1-month-old Paris Talley by putting her in a microwave at her Dayton home in 2005. Coroner’s officials said the baby suffered high-heat internal injuries and had no external burns. They have ruled out scalding water, open flame or other possible causes of death that could have damaged the skin.

Defense attorney Jon Paul Rion has said Arnold had nothing to do with her daughter’s death and was stunned when investigators told her that a microwave might have been involved. Arnold took the baby to the hospital after finding her unconscious and does not know how she died, Rion said.

Visiting Judge John Kessler began questioning potential jurors in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Monday, asking them if they would be able to serve at a trial that may last three weeks.

During a pretrial hearing in July, police Detective Michael Galbraith said Arnold told him she arrived home in the early morning hours after drinking, fell asleep and was awakened at 2:30 a.m. by the baby’s crying.

She said she warmed a bottle in the microwave oven, tried to give it to the baby, changed the child’s diaper and then fell asleep on the couch with the baby on her chest.

Arnold said she and her children were the only ones in the apartment until her boyfriend arrived several hours later and noticed something was wrong with the baby.

Galbraith said Arnold told him: “If I hadn’t gotten so drunk, I guess my baby wouldn’t have died.”

When cross-examined by Rion, Galbraith acknowledged that Arnold told him she did not know how the baby suffered the burns and that she had nothing to do with it that she could recall.

Earlier this month, defense witness Robert Belloto, a staff pharmacist at Good Samaritan Hospital, testified he does not believe it would have been possible for Arnold to place the baby in the microwave because the woman was so intoxicated.

Belloto said Arnold told him she had consumed about 40 percent of a pint of high-proof rum in 90 minutes. But he acknowledged that he had no other corroboration for her claim.

Got something to say?
