ABC News 1999: The Osama-Saddam connection

February 28, 2008

Politicians like to tell us there is no connection between Osama Bin Laden and the now deceased Saddam Hussein.  But, back on January 14, 1999 ABC News reporter Shelia MacVicar filed this report about Bin Laden possibly seeking a safe haven in Baghdad.

    Dan, Dan, Dan.
absolutley ridiculous. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT AN EMPLOYEE OF SADDAM HUSSEIN THAT ASSOCIATES WITH AL QUEDA MEMBERS DOE NOT JUSTIFY A FULL SCALE INVASION.
The simple fact of the matter is that Iraq HAS NEVER had enough of an association with Al queda to have justifyed this war.
LOOK INTO THE CONNECTIONS WITH AL QUEDA AND SYRIA, iRAN, AND AFGAHNISTAN.
And ripping on NPR? serioulsy. my dad can beat up your dad.
I am not saying you dont have a point, but you are grasping at straws here.
    WAKE UP.

It’s amazing how everybody KNEW, for a fact that Iraq had WMD’s (and used them on an entire Kurdish village), and that Iraq had ties with terrorists as they so eloquently lay out in this clip - and yet 6-8 years later they can completely dupe the entire American public into blaming Bush for misleading us into an unjust war.

If CNN reported that we’ve ALWAYS been at war with Eurasia, I imagine that 90% of the public would believe it without question.

Got something to say?
