USA of Whiners!
July 29, 2008
A former household name, Mr. T. is in the news this week for something that has little to do with him but a lot to say about us. Seems the mow hawked wonder made a Snickers commercial where he shoots the popular candy bar from an air gun while driving down the street.
The target is a lanky guy with yellow shorts who is speed walking. As the man’s hips rock back and forth in that power walker sort of way Mr. T comes flying by in his make shift military vehicle shouting, “You a disgrace to the Man Race. It’s time you run like a real man. Take that speed walker.”
You’ll never see that commercial on television because it was banned as soon as it left the editing room. Gay rights activists said it made fun of homosexuals and they applied the pressure and poof—no Snickers commercial. Folks, there wasn’t even a suggestion about homosexuals. None. If they had a problem—it’s their own problem, not the ads.
So what does this say about us? One, we are now programmed to cry about almost everything in our lives—someone is offended all the time and two, we continue to allow special interest groups control what we say, hear and see. Whatever happened to having thick skin? And whatever happened to freedom?

The commercial is funny. It is a pretty sick notion that it has to be banned by the complaint of no one we know. Stand up and be a man. Or woman. Who cancelled this? Show yourself.
The commercial is obviously geared towards masculinity and everything manly. One would tend to believe that men who like men would support manly ideals; or perhaps a community of men who choose to walk, talk, and act with feminene qualies really feel comprimised by more masculinity in the media. An innteligent person can enjoy a commercial for what it is, a truly weak person, reguardless of race, religion, or sexual orentation will be devistated by an actor 20 years past his prime, in his 50’s, with a mohak, shooting candy bars.
If you don’t find this ad funny you got problems.
this is definentaly not offensive, theres certainly nothing in here suggesting stereotype towards gay people. I think its just some good humor, very laughauble.
and by the way, gay people are not people, they deserve no rights because they should never have a man and another man together, that is completely wrong and against god.
There should be no gay rights activists, because they have no rights to be gay, and thats the facts. I think homosexuallity should be banned in the U.S., and i dont care how many people are offended, gay or not, it has to be done.
Wonder if the New Times got a cut of the prositution money ?? Who could have ever picked up that paper and not know what was going on? DUHHHH
Go Sherif Joe!!!
