We Buy Manipulation!

Recently I had the chance to watch a documentary on the 2002 Bolivian election process called “We Manage Crisis.” It’s a film about James Carville’s political consulting firm and how they used American resources and tactics to direct that country’s future.
In the film they are upfront about planting stories about rival candidates in order to sully their names, using focus groups to find key issues that the politician can claim even if they don’t care about it and basically, the art of lying to the citizens in order to win. As I watched the strategy sessions and consulting meetings unfold I kept thinking about our process and how people like this are manipulating us daily. They want us to get angry about the price of oil, race, old age or crime and magically—that’s what we are debating. If one guy creates his message to get us to go north, the other one crafts one headed south.
The Bolivian experiment ended in anarchy and death in the streets—here, it just ends in our electing a person whose image is carefully crafted and his words are exactly what we tell him we want to hear. So, as we lose more and more of our rights—are they just doing what we’ve told them we expect?

Just wanted to point out that the title of the documentary is Our Brand is Crisis. I was born in Virginia but raised in Bolivia. I can’t wait for you opinion on the film and the process that is going on in Bolivia right now.

If John McCain is so much smarter on Iraq and what “STAKES ARE HIGH” why didn’t we find ANTHRAX in Iraq. He said that is where it came from, and we must attack, attack , attack! He goes live on David Letterman just weeks after September 11th and tells America to send their money to George Bush “War on Terror” Telethon. Oh I can keep you safer! No Oh I was wrong and I was a clueless then as I am now. I would bet that John McCain could not say the Preamble of the United States.
James Carville is Barrack Obama, and Barrack Obama just defeated him and his views as he is the presumptive. Republicans can control “Evolution” but they sure can control a woman, by overturning Roe V Wade. I think he is going to start with Britney and Paris Hilton because they have 7 dollars to pay the valet unlike his daughter Live on TMZ!
Cindy the next “First Buffalo Chip Lady” per John McCain at his Biker Rally is worse than anything James Carville would ever say about his wife on National Television. I wonder how she even stomachs his crusty, dusty, and definitely rusty old self. Did ya’ll get your tickets yet to the GOP BIG OIL CRACK TELETHON?
