Where is the Justice?

August 13, 2008

If you missed Wednesday’s show then no doubt you haven’t heard about the miscarriage of justice in a Maricopa County court room because most news outlets let this one slip by without comment. On Tuesday, Judge Tim Ryan screwed us all when he let a child killer off with probation. Not to single him out alone, please be assured, CPS and lawyers were adequately involved too. Sure there’s more to the story—the killer is the two year old girl’s mother—I mean, walking womb—who starved her baby to death. Somehow she forgot to feed her child but was able to remember to take out a nice little life insurance policy only a week before little Nakeisha perished. Apparently, that didn’t seem to matter to the good judge. He liked probation.

But why? Perhaps it’s because the little girl’s brain was damaged–possibly from the drugs mamma took while the baby kicked inside her. So the argument could be that it was only humane to kill the kid because she was “different” and had too many special needs. CPS visited the family 5 times but to no avail. Judge Ryan heard the excruciating details but wasn’t moved and mom—well mom gets to go home to her other two kids because they are normal and less trouble.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings: Ankarlo is on a tear. 26-year old Eboni Perri plead guilty to charged of attempted child abuse. Judge Timothy Ryan sentenced her to lifetime probation after the county attorney’s office recommended a sentence of 15 years. Judge Ryan is not allowed to comment on individual cases, so there hasn’t been any comment there.

Here are the facts: 2-year old Nakeisha Walker died two days after her second birthday. She weighed 14 pounds at the time. There was no baby formula, cups, plates or utensils in the home. Nakeisha was also born with neurological problems due to her mother’s cocaine and marijuana use while she was pregnant. Her mom, Eboni Perri was taking her daughter to therapy, but inexplicably stopped a few months before her death. Perri also took out a life insurance policy on her daughter a month before she died. No jail time though. Thanks Judge Ryan.

In case you are wondering, Tracy Wareing runs Arizona’s Child Protective Services. CPS had been to Perri’s home five times.

Also today, Ankarlo says his show could be silenced if some in Congress have their way. The Fairness Doctrine could make a return.

Russia waged a cyberwar on Georgia well before the gunfire started.  Their goal was to shut down all the government websites.  It’s cheap and easy to do too and hard to prove.

Sex has now become an Olympic sport.  Over 100,000 condoms have been given to the Olympic athletes.   Could birth control pills change who women are attracted too?

Several lawmakers have been talking about reinstating the Fairness Doctrine over the past couple of years.  Most of these lawmakers are upset because of the dominance of conservative viewpoints on the airwaves.  The FCC commissioner has raised the possibility of the government controlling internet content if the doctrine is passed.  So much for free speech and free ideas.

A mom who starved her two year old daughter to death will not serve jail time.  Instead, she was given life time probation.  What?
