Ankarlo recognized

September 25, 2008

Darrell Ankarlo has been recognized as a “Hometown Hero” by radio industry leaders.

From the news release:

“While the most casual talk fans can easily recite the names of some of the format’s biggest national stars, like Rush, Hannity, Dr. Laura, Imus, or Savage, in cities and towns across America there are literally dozens of local talk radio stars who may not be well known to the national press, but who are honest-to-God ‘hometown heroes’ to their respective stations and to their thousands of loyal listeners.  Hosts who are so firmly entrenched that their names are synonymous with the stations from which they broadcast and their lives inextricably intertwined into the fabric of the communities they serve.”

Congratulations to Ankarlo.  He has said he moved to Phoenix to become a part of this community.  Since he has arrived here Darrell brought 60 inner city children to a DBacks playoff game and with your help he has raised over $400,000 for SAARC.  He has also helped numerous locals including a Vietnam Veteran who fell behind on his truck payments due to his medical bills.  Darrell’s goal is to continue reaching out to make a real difference in the Valley.

Congratulations, Darrell! I enjoy your show, and I appreciate your willingness to look at all sides of an issue. You deserve to be named a “Hometown Hero,” and I hope that Phoenix will continue to be your hometown for many years.

Congratulations Darrell. I’m not surprised at this accolade, because I remember how much you did while in Dallas - where you’re still sorely missed by a lot of people! The people of Phoenix are blessed to have you now.

The Great Oz Ankarlo has spoken! I won, I won! I’m like the Mayor I won! Rightfully so! Regardless if you agree or disagree because that is what America does!

Hometown hero? BS, Ankarlo is not from Arizona, He has not voted for any public officials here, he uses false authority for personal gain, he hides behind his so called community work, yea I could do the same thing, I can speak against the governor, the mayor, side with the sheriff, hate mexicans, speak against established Arizona law, say that it was ok for Diane Brennan that she was here illegally before becoming a citizen because she is white, and so on and then justify myself by helping give food to a few homeless people, take them to a baseball game and be called a hero, bull sh….Ankarlo is nothing but an insolent moron, all you people that kiss his butt have been brainwashed.

To Jay Z - Did you know that people from other countries can apply for and possibly receive work visas so that they can legally live and work in this country? Perhaps like Diane Brennan had before she became a legal citizen? I would say to you, Jay Z, think and investigate your statements before you insult people! Further, don’t be talking about “our” Ankarlo that way! All I can say is, “HE ROCKS”!!! Darrell has been the voice behind our illegal immigration concerns since he has lived in Arizona. From my perspective, he speaks fairly, listens to both sides, and speaks on behalf of those of us who do not hate other people from other countries - we just want these people to come here LEGALLY. What a concept, eh? Yeah, yeah, the Mexicans are just coming here to work! What about the Mexican lady with two tiny children that i saw in front of an elementary school here while there was a school program going on one night? She had been picking up aluminum cans and instead of taking her children home to use the bathroom she just let them go by the school fence - no diapers, nothing!. So what kind of existence is that, not to mention what it is doing to our communities’ well-being? Thank you Ankarlo (and Rob and Diane) - your friends have your backs!

Oh Great Oz Ankarlo, Hero of the Hood! Please forgive Jay Z, he lost as he has lost his “Beyonce” Sanctions speak in the Great Halls of Arizona! Sanctions speak loud in the streets in the hiring, and firing of all employees because the books now see “REDRUM” “REDRUM.” Sanctions speak loud on payday, at the “payday” loan store near you!

Oh Great Oz Ankarlo, Hero of the Hood! Please forgive Jay Z, he lost his “Beyonce” on the way to work! Brown skin, Brown eyed, “caged” provisionalized and fearful of his neighbors. Fearful that he is a “hotline” mistake awaiting while standing outside his nearest “Lowes” or “Home Depot” visit! Fearful of being “caged” detained, rendered and fined for “Tresspassing in the First Degree” Fearful that his wink, nod, or upper extremity jesture resulting in a “hotline” call to Sherriff Joe and his Possee! Fearful in the “First Degree” of being retained, “foreced to attest” to his nationality, naturalization. Fearful that if he doesn’t he will be beaten, John Yoo Tortured, rendered without “consul” or proper medical care! Fearful that the Sherrif will say “I did everything possible” just prior to “expiring” in his home birthright State of Arizona!

Oh Great Oz Ankarlo, Hero of the Hood! Please forgive us all for we have sinned! In allowing such Sanctions, Emergency Immigration Crime Sweeps, and the continued, hate, disrespect, for Immigration Reform triggars that would end the self-disrespect for our human life the way we knew it!
