Sexists everywhere.

Racism is wrong. Period. We all get it, or at least most of us do. Why? Because racism is wrapped up in the belief that one person, or groups of people, is better than another. How is it that we will scream bloody murder over this issue but allow an equally terrible sickness like sexism to exist? There are new sightings of “Sarah Palin is a ‘c’” T-shirts proudly adorning the bodies of idiots and now, in California, a mannequin dressed as Mrs Palin is hanging in effigy and people are driving by, laughing and taking pictures.
If that was a likeness of Barack Obama you and I can only imagine how the press, politicians and racial industrialists would be acting but since it’s just the little missy—ain’t no big deal. It is a huge deal on several fronts—one, it’s sexism at its worst and two, it’s open season on anything Republican. The fact that either is tolerated in America—like they are—in 2008 speaks volumes about every single one of us.
Sexism is wrong but it doesn’t compare to racism. Hate crimes are still mostly related to race not sex and often involve violence or vandalism. Last I checked women don’t get their houses spray painted “Go Home” or vandalized because of their sex. Sure they get asked more questions about petty issues and critisized for things like clothes and shoes but I would love to trade places. They don’t have to move into a neighborhood and wonder if the neighbors hate them for no reason other than the color of their skin. Women were never stopped from drinking from certain water fountains or going to certain restaurants . I think you get the point, sexism is definately bad but it doesn’t compare to racism. Because of our history certain things will always be looked at differently and thats never going to change unfortunately. Have you seen the T-shirts that say “N-word please! It’s called a white house” Obama has more security than anyone else for a reason. The Sexist aren’t threatening to kill Palin, but there have certainly been racist who want to and will more than likely try to kill Obama. I don’t like either but I also don’t think they’re comparable. There are still places in this country a minority person wouldn’t dare go. You can think Mr.Bush for the open season on Republicans, are you really suprised?
