Today on Ankarlo Mornings: There is a website set up just for cheaters. Ankarlo is baffled and he takes some great calls this morning. First, from Tony. He’s actually used the site. Then Robin calls and says she isn’t getting what she needs at home. It’s a must listen!

Justin Hood, from the Arizona Mortgage Team take your call and answers your mortgage questions. From there, it turns into a discussion on the economy.

In the final hour Ankarlo talks about an outrageous Halloween costume. A woman and man dressed up at an airplane and the World Trade Center. Truely tasteless.

He’s Still Only 8

November 14, 2008

We’ve all been following the brutal murders of the two St. Johns men, allegedly by an eight year old boy and new details are causing emotions to escalate—especially the news that the kid unloaded four bullets into each man, stopping to reload after each shot.  Bad stuff.  Really bad stuff.  But, come on folks, stop telling me the boy must stand trial as an adult or be executed.  He’s a child.  A kid.  He plays with GI Joes, has sword fights with imaginary villains and likes to eat Captain Crunch out of the box—after he gets the hidden toy.  I am as tough on crime as anyone you’ll meet but at eight nothing about the boy has fully developed which may have led to his murderous decisions but it may also offer the only hope in this story.  Just like those weight loss pictures of the person before and after their diets—we may have the chance to see one of the most miraculous changes ever recorded.   Isn’t this one at least worth the risk?

Ankarlo’s Take is written for broadcast.  You can hear it live druing Arizona’s Morning News at 7:20 on News/Talk 92.3 KTAR or you can listen to the podcast below.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings: Ankarlo and Diane went to a business lunch yesterday. The only problem is Diane and the lady invited to the lunch wanted to chat. Ankarlo didn’t feel included, so he got up to leave after paying the bill. Diane thought this was rude. Ankarlo wanted to let the ladies talk. Who is right?

There is an ad running in Washington, D.C. saying “Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness sake.” Is it possible for humans to be good without learning it from somewhere? Ankarlo thinks humans are inherently bad with the prescence of God.

A super Paula Abdul fan who tried out for American Idol killed herself outside Adbul’s house. Ankarlo wonder what this says about us? Yes, the fan was mentally troubled. But, what does it say that we watch people on T.V. just to see how horrible they are or just to tear them down.

We now know about the 8-year old in St. Johns, AZ that allegedly killed his Dad. The mom is wondering just what happened, but she may have provided some clues.

E. Rigby?

November 12, 2008

Annie Mawson wrote to Paul McCartney asking for money for her charity though she was certain she would never hear from the former Beatle.  9 months later she was surprised when a package arrived in the mail with McCartney’s name in the return address.  Nervously, she opened it but felt a little let down when there was no money.  Instead, she found a 97 year old time card with a bunch of names on it.  She scanned the page and put it down with no idea what it meant.  Then she looked again.  A first initial of E and a last name of Rigby caught her eye as she swooped it off the table.  E. Rigby?  Eleanor Rigby?  This was proof that the character the Beatles had said was fictional was actually a real person.  A nice gesture but her charity needed money.  It will be auctioned this month and is expected to fetch almost a million dollars.  Sometimes it pays to think outside the box.  Ankarlo’s Take is written for broadcast.  You can hear it live each weekday during Arizona’s Morning News at 7:20.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings: Ankarlo warns of big brother coming in the form of google and speed cameras. Yes, he’s serious…sort of.

Ankarlo, Rob and Diane take the rude quiz.

And this year our company Christmas party has been canceled.

Today is Veteran’s Day. Ankarlo welcomes three Veteran’s from Project We Salute to help their efforts. They are aiding Veterans in any way that they can. You can help them by visiting their website here. Today, they explain their new mission after arriving home from war.

Another Veteran wrote Ankarlo an email bascially saying “enough with the praise.” We do a job. That’s it, end of story. Ankarlo wonders why? He wants to salute the men and women who bravely serve.

Other topics today: A moving billboard truck rolls by a Valley high school with anti-abortion pictures. Ankarlo thinks kids need to see this message. Rob, on the other hand, says if this was a PETA organization people wouldn’t feel the same way. Also, AIG was in Phoenix at another resort. Josh Bernstein from ABC 15 was undercover at the resort. He joins Ankarlo.

Veteran’s Day…

November 11, 2008

A way to help.

arlington.jpg

SSgt James Fawbush, SSgt Paul Culberson and Sgt Mike Zahnow joined Ankarlo on Veteran’s Day.  They are part of an organization known as Project We Remember.  Their goal is to “raise funds for individuals and non-profit organizations that provide support for our military men and women they and their families are in need beyond that which is provided by their respective service branch.”

So far, Project We Remember has provided an apartment across from the Phoenix V.A. hospital to allow a Veteran to stay with his family while he receives the care he needs.

You can help by providing monetary support on the website, ProjectWeRember.Org .  I ask you to help because sometimes the V.A. care is just not enough.  Let’s help our Servicemen and Women before they are homeless and let’s get them help for injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder.  It’s the help they have fought.  Visit our friends at Project We Remember and donate what you can.  Remember, every little bit helps.

They are also looking for businesses to sponsor their “Change for Change” drive.  Project We Remember will come to your place of business, drop off a can and you can gather the employees and donate by dropping money into the bucket.  For more information on how you can take part, contact Project We Remember at 480-306-4777.  Please help where you can.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings: An 8-year old kid allegedly killed two poeple in St. Johns, AZ. Police don’t know why at this point as there are no signs of abuse. How can an 8-year old commit such a horrific act? Ankarlo explores but there are more questions than answers.

Ankarlo saw several protests on the news over the weekend about Prop. 8 in California and Prop. 102 in Arizona. But, the activists have focused their attention on several Churches. It seems they are fighting hate by spewing their own hate.

Finally, is it time to bailout the US auto industry too? They are in trouble and no one is buying cars.
