Today on Ankarlo mornings we talked a little bit about this wacky winter we are having around our nation and I’m sure it’s going to be a White Christmas for a lot of people. Also the airports in most of the country are a mess thanks to mother nature, and speaking of thanks, David Spade coming to the rescue for our Phoenix police officers. Of course speed cameras we’re on the mind of Mr. Ankarlo but he liked something that was going on with them. Tonight is the Ankarlo staff party, he’s a little worried about it…maybe he should be. Merry Christmas!!!

Help this Holiday Season

December 17, 2008

We know the economy is tight, but some of you still want to help others this Holiday season.  Remember, some families are struggling, barely getting by.  They use charities to help feed their children and take care of themselves.  Ankarlo and his wife Laurie will contribute to both Kitchen on the Street and the Phoenix Rescue Mission this year.  Diane’s favorite charity is the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation.  Please help if you can.  Thank you.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Pardon Me, Mr. President

December 17, 2008

Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos remain in prison though most authorities close to the story believe the two Border Patrol agents were acting within their boundaries when they shot a known drug dealer in his butt while he transported 750 pounds of marijuana across the border. After an overzealous prosecutor got done with this story the two highly decorated officers were sentenced to 11 and 12 year prison sentences. Now, as President George W Bush prepares to leave office he is being inundated with pardon requests and it’s time for one more. So far he has released 32 drug dealers, 12 thieves, an armed bank robber, an arsonist and many others. At the top of that list should be the names of these two dedicated employees of the people and I am appalled that they are spending yet another holiday behind bars. This is just plain wrong. Please contact the White House, our state’s two senators and as many congresspersons as you can to request that Ramos and Compean be released before Christmas. The president can do it—he just needs a push. So, please, push hard.

Ankarlo’s Take is written for broadcast. You can listen to it live during Arizona’s Morning News every weekday at 7:20.

This morning on Ankarlo Mornings:  Some parents wanted to get a birthday cake for their child, but the store refused to do it.  Why?  Their child’s name is Adolf Hitler.  Ankarlo says they should have just put the name on the cake…many of you disagree.

Also, Ankarlo talks with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and asks him if he is going to run for the Governor’s office.

After he speaks with the Mayor, Ankarlo details his weekend camping trip up north.  He actually wanted to sleep in the woods under the stars while it was snowing.  Listen to hear how that turned out.

Doug Mizell from Kudzunol.com tells us how he makes fuel from a weed.  And Ankarlo also talks about the Madoff pyramid scheme that is the worst fraud in Wall Street history.
