Congress is a Circus

March 19, 2009

Everyone loves a circus, with big elephants, whacky out-of-control donkeys and even the pooper scoopers make you laugh.  On Wednesday we had it all when Congress staged its own BS circus with Barney Frank playing the ringmaster and Chris Dodd doing an unbelievable disappearing act.  All while a guy appointed to fix the issues—with a buck a year as compensation got sawed in half more often than not.  Folks, what we witnessed should cause us to riot.  Literally!  Frank passively suggested he doesn’t care what happens to AIG employees getting bonus money.  In other words, so what if citizens hang ‘em.  They deserve it.  Maybe they do.  But only after those liars in the congressional chambers learn their lessons first.  Chris Dodd had to back track all day for blatantly lying about his role in creating the language that allowed the huge bonuses.  Indeed, Dodd and other politicians created the AIG deal.  Indeed they acted shocked at the hearing though Time Magazine reports many knew about it all weeks ago.  Indeed, the legislators say they will create a tax to get the money back.  I call BS on the whole charade.  This is not a little bending of truth people; these are planned and executed lies aimed to keep your minds off the real criminals.  Throw the whole lot of them into a jail cell with Bubba, maybe he can teach them something about honor codes—their mammas obviously failed.

Ankalro’s Take is written for broadcast.  You can hear it here or live during Arizona’s Morning News at 7:20 on News/Talk 92.3 KTAR.

This is my personal opinion - NOT that of the non-profit I work for. God Bless you for your honest, courageous speaking out on an absolutely HORRIBLE bunch of political criminals. You and Glenn Beck are leaders we really need right now.

On another subject, our non-profit desperately need funds to help those with no health insurance in Arizona. We get NO government money — only public donations. We are having our annual WALK 4 SIGHT AZ on Saturday, March 28th, (We walk in the dark so they won’t have to). I hope you could mention it briefly on your show.

I listen to you at work and on my way in each morning. Keep up your great work.

    Ankarlo:

Not sure if you have seen the attached from Lee Iaccoca’s new book, but you gotta love Lee’s direct talk. It’s about time someone starting talking this way about making our elected officials accountable and “growing a set” (of balls).

The two party system?…..Where have all the leaders gone?

Remember Lee Iacocca, the VP at Ford credited with the birth of the Mustang, the man who rescued Chrysler, Corporation from their death throes, and the owner of the famous quote ‘Lead, follow, or get out of the way’! Well, he’s back! He has a new book, and here are some excerpts.

    Lee Iacocca

    Born
    October 15, 1924 (1924-10-15) (age 84)
    Allentown, Pennsylvania

    Occupation

    Philanthropist,
    former Chrysler CEO,
    former Ford President

Where Have All The Leaders Gone

    Copyright 2007 by Lee Iacocca

    Lee Iacocca writes:

‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course’

Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned ‘Titanic’ I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the bums out!’

You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘ America ‘ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?

I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have.

The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis !

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down. George Bush, Dick Chaney and who is this Bozo coming up next?

One of the most Liberal Idiots in the U. S. Senate, BARACK OBAMA and he is talking about disarming America . I can’t believe the American people are seeing what he is about to do to this country. May God have mercy on us all.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A Hell of a Mess. So here’s where we stand. We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great Companies are all moving offshore. We’re getting slaughtered by health care costs. Nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are the worst in the world. Our borders are like sieves. The middle class is being squeezed every which way These are times that cry out for leadership and we are getting ready to put the most Liberal Senator in the U.. S. Senate in as our next President because we want to be fair and elect someone just because of his race. We don’t have time to be fair, we need a strong leader.

But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I hope you get the point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo? We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane, or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm. Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t happen again. Well guess what people? We are having more floods right now. What are we doing to help these people out. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time. Why are we allowing people to build in flood plains anyway? If you build in a flood area, expect to be flooded and deal with it. Don’t expect the Government to bail you out.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. All they seem to be thinking now-days is getting themselves bigger salaries and bonuses. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it? Likely nothing!

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debt, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the gang in Congress and the Senate. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change? I honestly don’t think any of you have one!

    Had Enough?

Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope; I believe in America … In my lifetime I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America’s greatest moments I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: the ‘Great Depression’, ‘World War II’, the ‘Korean War’, the ‘Kennedy Assassination’, the ‘Vietnam War’, the 1970s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11 If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this:

‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a call to ‘Action’ for people who, like me, believe in America . It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and go to work. Let’s tell ‘em all we’ve had ‘enough.’

Make a ‘real contribution’ by sending this to everyone you know and care about……our future is at stake!”

Oh Great Oz Ankarlo, Hero of the Hood, RICO Lobbyist Dispenser for the “right.”
Planned, executed lies aimed at keeping your eyes off the GOP Generational Thieves who don’t work, didn’t work but had all the “schemes” that did.

Just think if there was no so called “Collapse” of the markets and the GOP Generational Theft by Decepters invented one as though they did. Just say you are broke, with no transparency or proof! Billion for you, Billion for me, a Billion for you, Three Billion for me because they failed at consolidating you unto him.

Just think if Bush/Cheney got their “Private Equity Accounts” located in Dubai, every elderly person on SSI, I know that savings plan that shouldn’t be in place for people who just couldn’t save like you and mama! But think about it, no FISA Immunity Protection and Liability. 12 million “Z” people paying into “foreign private equity Social Security accounts.” No Collapse then! Just their planned executed lies aimed at keeping you stuck in the “Willingness Suspension of Disbelief” the Economy is Strong, and Job Creation is on the rise George Bush speech. No Collapse then!

Oh Great Oz Ankarlo, Hero of the Hood, Economic Advisor to the West! Give me a break. What happened to that I just don’t want to talk about it! We lost! McCain lost! Romney “Quit” at a time of “War.” We lost, and I just don’t want to talk about it I’m as mad as Hell! I need RICO money, I need RICO Money!

Place blame where blame should be placed! It was “Theft by Deception” day in the GOP and at the end of the day, like you; everyone is still stuck on stupid because the consolidation of you unto them didn’t happen!

    Go Obama!

When is Dodd, the architect of the Bonus deal going to man up and give his AIG bonus back? At the same time Obama, the second biggest recipient does. Yeah right.

  5. Roger Morris on March 20th, 2009 12:44 am

Vickie the same day Henry Paulson gives back the 7.1 billions he made in the “No Transparency Week at the GOP Midnight Hour.”

Vickie the same day the former Mein Kempf Bush Adminstration and their evil doers get out of jail and pay back all that 2.1 trillion dollars waisted in Iraq for a deal or no deal! The Biggest American Heist ever! It was either Recession or Depression, aren’t you happy!

That’s the 2.1 trillion dollar Broke America deal or no deal, is that where your investments went? Obama, Dodd, that’s amazing.

  6. Vicki on March 20th, 2009 1:08 am

NY Times, Giethner under Paulsen, proudly takes credit for drawing up the AIG bailout. H.R. 1424 is the wonderful Dodd Amendment that protected the bonuses. If any of them read the stuff they inflict on the tax payers maybe Obama would have used his “scalpel” to clean out this waste. Instead he “shovels” it on.

Obama Could Take a Page from JFK’s Playbook

It seems these days one cannot get away from the overbearing news of the economy. Whether it is our own president bad mouthing the economy, our highest ranking officials in congress hammering the notion that the economy is going to crash and burn, or it is some of the best economic geniuses of our day saying that the economy has “fallen off a cliff,” we are all aware and we have all felt the recession in our own lives.

Many of our leaders, both political and business, like to play the blame game saying that they’ve inherited this economic downturn, that it was the “other” political party which has gotten us into this mess, that there wasn’t enough regulation, that there was too much greed, and the list goes on and on. In order to solve this financial “crisis” our president has invoked a New Deal type agenda and budget. One that is not only going to limit tax breaks for the one’s creating jobs, but increase the tax percentage they are already paying, implement a cap and trade on carbon emissions, and many more revenue raising taxes. I say to all members of Congress that denying the president of his costly and crippling budget is not a partisan issue, but rather an American issue.

Was it not the heralded president, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy who stated in an address to the Economic Club of New York in 1962 that “An economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough revenue to balance our budget, just as it will never produce enough jobs or enough profits.” Was it not JFK who stated that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” How is it that the economic ideology of the man whom the Democrats model themselves after, the man who many say was one of the best presidents of this 20th century is lost to the pages of time. Oh how vain and foolish we Americans are who forget where we have come from and what we have gone through. Oh how naïve as to the matters of the economy the ruling party has become. Our president must heed the words of JFK, because I fear that if he does not we all will get stuck on a sand bar.

“AZscam Kyl Speaks” I was Mr. Judiciary, I was all that! Obama needs to quickly get back to Washington and get to the bottom of the John Yoo “Torture” memos.

We’ve got a crisis on our hands! We’ve got a crisis on our hands! Eavesdropping, Wiretapping, and Datamining Americans without a “Court Order” was illegal! The GOP can no longer “protect the companies” that “protected us.”
We’ve got a crisis on our hands!

Quickly oh Great Obama, get to the bottom of the “Blame Plame, Blame “Clandestine” Plame treason!

Quickly oh Great Obama, President of the United States, come back! Come back we’ve got a crisis on our hands! Blood too!

Quickly Obama return to the White House and get to the bottom as to why “Tom Delay” and “Jerry Doolittle, David Vitter” haven’t gone to jail yet!

Quickly Obama return to the White House and get to the bottom as to why Henry Paulson made billions and billions for Sachs! Now in Dubai, tax free, GOP sheltered free! Quickly Obama return to the White House and get to the bottom of George Bush/Dick Cheney and the entire GOP Republicans Generational Theft by Deception taxpayer “reconciliation deal or no deal.”

I’ll even bring the “hidden” cameras to make sure the GOP protect the companies, CEO’s and whistleblowers that protect us!

Got something to say?
