Ankarlo Update…

Many of you have been asking when Ankarlo is coming back. To be honest, I don’t know yet. But, what I can tell you is he is making progress. I saw him earlier this week and the signs of progress are evident. For those of you wondering where Ankarlo has been: He was in a serious car accident on April 8th and suffered a severe concussion. He has been out since then due to complications from the accident. Austin Hill and Kid Stevens have been filling in on Ankarlo Mornings. They will continue to hold it down until Ankarlo is healthy enough to return.
Thank you for all your concern and well wishes. We are all very appreciative.
You are missed, Ankarlo. The replacements have been good, but there is no one that can fill the “Ankarlo shoes”. Get better quickly.
Man, I heard you on the radio after your accident and totally felt where you were coming from. You’ve been on my mind ever since. I believe events like this in life are a message from God that you’ve still got more living to do. Just found your show recently and am looking forward to living your life with you!
Ankarlo, we miss you terribly but at the same time we want you to get better. My prayers for health and healing are with you. Take care of yourself and we will patiently await your return. A few weeks without you is better than the alternative. Your voice is needed and appreciated by many. Be well our friend!

Well….what I have to say is simple. Ankarlo, you make me think more than I have ever thought in my life and now I find myself thinking and hoping that you will be ok. This was very helpfull and I am in your debt.

Ankarlo, I hope your feeling better. We all miss you and want you back as soon as possible. I drive all day, and you make my day pass faster. I love listening to you and especially when you call your wife. She’s so cute, I love the relationship you too have. I don’t like listening to Austin Hill, I think he is rude to some of the callers who don’t agree with him, I like Kid, but Love you. Take as much time as you need but please we need you back.
My mornings are not the same without Ankarlo. Thanks to KTAR for the update. I am pleased to hear that he is making progress and that his seat at KTAR remains his when he can return. I will be listening then.
In the meantime, I will listen to Kid. However, Hill gives me a headache.

I wish the best for Ankarlo and I have listened to him since Dallas, but him coming back to work and sounding fine, and then all of a sudden gone because of the accident, sounds like he needs the “sick” time to prove a point for a potential lawsuit

Ankarlo, I hope you get better soon, I will listen again to KTAR when you are back, Austin Hill makes me sick. He cuts people off, he replies to what they are saying before they have even finished a sentence, he is judgmental and arrogant. I listen to you on the way in to work everyday and at lunch. I like Kid ok, but I never know who is going to be hosting so I will just wait until you come back.

Adam and Americal Idol: Finally Ankarlo an issue we can agree on. What happened on AI was a travesty. However, Adam will go on to be a huge success and won’t be tied down to some American Idol lenghty contract. Unfortuantely for Kris he will be more like the Ruben Studdard, Fantasia and Taylor winners. Notably forgettable.

Hope you are doing better, as far as TBI goes anyway. My husband was in a catastrophic work accident almost 6 years ago and now has TBI. What an experience, I would never wish that injury on my worst enemy. The man I married is no longer, now I have to learn to love the man he is now. Luckily my kids were only 1.5 and 3 so they did not have a big adjustment, they just have to deal with a hotheaded father sometimes. CTN at St Joseph’s was a godsend, if you have not heard on them, please check it out.

I just wanted you to know you are still in my thoughts and prayers. The show is just not the same without you, but I want you to get well first before coming back. Just know we all care about your health more than a radio show, so keep your chin up and try not to drive yourself crazy with thinking about how frustrating this all is. Darrell, So glad to hear you are coming back. I know first hand the nightmare you have been through. I hope your recovery has made you stronger. Everyday life will have a sweeter taste than before. Every thing you once believed or felt has been forever altered because of this experience. To the one who commented that you were “milking ” your accident for ratings. I would not wish the journey back to “normal” life on any one. My traumatic brain injuries (TBI) left me with permanent memory and hearing loss and epilesy. The physical damage to my body took months to heal. And side effects took years end. I am forever a changed man. Darrell, I will be cheering you on come Tuesday. Hang on! Life is fragile. Praise God.
