Today on Ankarlo Mornings:

Has the American Flag become offensive?  One apartment complex owner has told all residents to take down Old Glory.  Why?  Becuase they live in a ‘diverse’ community and some might find the Flag offensive

Meanwhile, a 17-year old from New York has been suspended from school because he had a two-inch knife in his car.  He kept it there just in case.  He’s an Eagle Scout and has already completed Army basic training.  None of that matters.  It’s zero tolerance baby.  Matthew Whalen also dreams of attending West Point.  That dream might no longer happen because of this suspension.

You have to read this column.  The author says America isn’t the greatest country in the world and certainly not the only country that has something to be proud of.  Is he realistic or is he off the reservation?

Meanwhile, you can score one for common sense.  A six-year old boy who brought a Cub Scout tool with a fork, spoon and a knife was originally suspended from school.  He was ordered to attend an alternative school for 45 days.  But, his suspension has been revoked and he will go back to his regular school starting this week.

The Senate is moving closer to passing a health care bill.  With the help of one GOP Senator, Oympia Snowe, the bill passed the Senate Finance Committee.  Sen. Snowe said yesterday, when history calls, history calls.  Basically, this isn’t about doing what’s right.  This is about adding her name to the history books.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings:

Cheerleaders in Georgia have been banned from holding up signs at football games that quoted the Bible.  Is this a First Amendment issue or does it violate the seperation of Church and State?  Ankarlo sides on the side of the First Amendment.

Ankarlo’s youngest daughter Katie has moved out of the house.  Now, Darrell is faced with a Catch-22.  See, Katie has run out of money.  Should Darrell give her some money or should be teach her a life lesson?

Also, Ankarlo has been watching a BBC documentary about the rise of Nazi Germany. He’s seeing parallels between Germany circa 1930’s and USA circa now.  Are you concerned?

Today on Ankarlo Mornings:  What happened in Sedona at the Sweat Lodge?  Ankarlo tries to find some answers.  Is Marge Simpson really in Playboy?  Yes.  Why, that’s just odd.  Also today, should Ankarlo go to Rob’s destination wedding?  And a six-year old has been suspended from school because he brought a Cub Scout tool containing a knife to school.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings:

What happened in the sweat lodge in Sedona?  Why did two people die?  There are more questions than answers right now.  But, self-help author James Arthur Ray isn’t cooperating with authories.  Is he to blame?

Ankarlo wants to know what in the world is Marge Simpson doing in Playboy?

Also, should Ankarlo spend money to go to Producer Rob’s wedding?  He’s unsure.

Finally, a six-year old boy has been suspended from school because he brought a Cub Scout Tool to school.  It had a knife on it.  Apparently, zero-tolerance policies also mean zero-common sense policies.

Today on Ankarlo Mornings:

A ten-year old boy received a ticket for disrupting class.  Not just a detention ticket–an actual ticket.  Now, his mom has to pay $260.  There’s just a lot wrong with this story.

Are you getting the swine flu vaccine?  Ankarlo isn’t even though the government is trying to get him to.

Sheriff Joe and Homeland Security Sec. Janet Napolitano are fighting about illegal immigration.  Apparently, she’s not going let Sheriff Joe cross train officers with ICE anymore.  Why does the government make it so hard to let Sheriff Joe do his job?

Today on Ankarlo Mornings:   Jon and Kate plus 8.  They are getting a very public divorce.  Do we like watching families fall apart? It seems that way.  David Letterman was back on TV last night making fun of himself and apologizing to his staff.  Ankarlo thinks he should have apologized to his wife too.  Ankarlo spends a few minutes talking about Afghanistan–the US should either get out or fight the war to win it.  Jim Roberts from the Heritage Foundation joins Darrell to talk about the demise of the US dollar.  One newspaper is reporting the Arab World, China, Russia, Brazil and Japan are moving to get oil traded in an alternate currency.  This could be a huge blow to the US.
