Ankarlo recognized

Darrell Ankarlo has been recognized as a “Hometown Hero” by radio industry leaders.
From the news release:
“While the most casual talk fans can easily recite the names of some of the format’s biggest national stars, like Rush, Hannity, Dr. Laura, Imus, or Savage, in cities and towns across America there are literally dozens of local talk radio stars who may not be well known to the national press, but who are honest-to-God ‘hometown heroes’ to their respective stations and to their thousands of loyal listeners. Hosts who are so firmly entrenched that their names are synonymous with the stations from which they broadcast and their lives inextricably intertwined into the fabric of the communities they serve.”
Congratulations to Ankarlo. He has said he moved to Phoenix to become a part of this community. Since he has arrived here Darrell brought 60 inner city children to a DBacks playoff game and with your help he has raised over $400,000 for SAARC. He has also helped numerous locals including a Vietnam Veteran who fell behind on his truck payments due to his medical bills. Darrell’s goal is to continue reaching out to make a real difference in the Valley.

The FBI is investigating Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and AIG. Good news for Goldman Sachs. Billionare Investor Warren Buffett will invest $5 billion in the bank saying, “Goldman Sachs is an exceptional institution.” Bad credit card debt, car and student loand have been added (quietly) to the $700billion bailout. Here is a good one: A poll says Americans oppose bailouts of private companies, but they trust Obama more on the economy (he’s the king of handouts).

The state of Arizona is facing up to $1billion in budget shorfalls.
Instead of showing leadership, the Democratic Congress will let the offshore drilling ban expire. The good news is that there will be more drilling. The bad news is that instead of taking this up as an issue and helping to lead Congress punted.
Pakistan claims they have shot down a US military drone. This on top of firing on US helicopters and warning they will shoot at the troops too.
Obama is trying to paint McCain as elitist because he has seven houses and thirteen cars. Come on, can’t we just admit they are both elitist and get the vote on already?

Economy: The Democrats are looking to add $50 billion to the bailout bill as a stimulus package. The goal is to help them win in November. McCain is calling for greater Congressional oversight. I understand the need for oversight, but I’m not sure Congress is the one to provide the best. McCain agrees. He called for appointing Gov. Mitt Romney, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and investor Guru Warren Buffett. While the markets responded negatively yesterday, the price of oil went up $16 per barrell and people poured money into commodities. Speaking of the bailout, McCain, Obama and Biden might not even show up to vote on the package. Bloomberg: How the Democrats are to blame for the housing crisis. Want to know how rich members of Congress are? Roll Call has put together a list of the 50 richest. Yes, they have more money than we do.
Talk the Vote: Obama regains the lead in the latest CNN poll. He has 51% of the support, while McCain is right behind with 46%. Former President Bill Clinton praised Sarah and Todd Palin yesterday on the View.

We may be talking about bank bailouts, but the House approved $25billion in low interest loans for the Big 3 automakers. Bill Heard closes the doors on several of it’s car dealerships. Ankarlo says this man deserves the Medal Of Honor. Oh, Peralta was born in Mexico City but became a United States Citizen while serving as a Marine.
