Do you have an endocinologist you would recommend?
His test results for Hashimoto's disease came back "negative" no lab value was ever given to us. Can you have normal lab values and be subclinical?
I missed your show this week. I was locked up all day in a conference.

OOPS!!! You are rghht! However, you try seeing patients 6 days a week, answering phones myself, turning out a newsletter, building a website, doing a blog, preparing 2-3 hours day for the radio show, developing safe natural products, churning out text blasts when appropriate and being a hsband and dad and see if you don't make a few mistakes!!! Hey, I am human. BUT, you ARE right!! There is NO protein in melamine- just poison. By the ay, the blog NEVER says take melamine or use it as a milk substitute.

Thanks for the critique. I can take it and that's what I want- folks becoming engaged in the show, the blog, my web site and their health! Sam

what about allergies? I always had suffered from allergies, I am 35 years old and active (since I am in the reserves and I have to work out to mantain my endurance). Three years ago I was under the alergy shot, but I stopped. Here again with allegies and I am afraid to develop ashma, since I cannot breath at night. I already went to the doctor and he gave me an inhalator (albuterol sulfate). I only use it at night. My next appointment is in a week. What should I do? Which homeopathic alternatives do I have? Should I move from AZ?

"The most important nutrient in milk is protein. And melamine has a comparable protein that contains ‘NITROGEN’."

This is simply incorrect and gives the wrong impression. Melamine does not "contain" protein. It is mistaken for protein when the milk is tested for protein content because the tests are designed to look for Nitrogen as a proxy for protein and Melamine contains lots of Nitrogen by wieght.
This simple inaccuracy makes me less likely to accept the rest of your information, if you can not recognise this obvious misinformation then what else may be incorrect?

Dear Dr. Benjamin,
I love your show. You tell it like it is in the medical system. As a heathcare professional we need to let the public know the truth about the insurance cos. pharmaceutical cos. etc.
I have some questions about Hashimoto's disease. I think my husband has it although his thyroid studies in the past have been normal. He has had a back problem which I think has resulted in totally missing the other symptoms he has ie; eating like a horse without gaining weight, sleeplessness, fatigue, depression and anxiety. He developed hypertension when he never had it. He is 56 years old. He was so depressed he has tried to kill himself.
This is not my husband! After research and advice from a friend who has the disease I believe he has it. He is being tested for the antibodies. Are there any other tests you would recommend? I have been saying to our PCP for nearly a year that his metabolism is revved up and I believe he has an endocrine problem. He had a "panic attack in the spring which landed him in the ER. He had a CT scan of his head at that time. It has gone on so long I think the chronic back pain and these other symtoms has caused him despair.
Let me know your thoughts on how we should proceed. He is under psychiatric care which I think is a, inappropriate and b, not the right place for him. He needed an acute intervention at the time.
Also if he has this I would like you to tell your listeners about this disease so no one should have to suffer, think they are crazy and lose hope.
Sorry I was so lengthy. I started writing and couldn't stop.
