D-Backs Are Solid On Opening Day

Here’s what went down today on G&A…

* Abbreviated edition following the D-Backs’ Opening Day win over the Reds in the ‘Nati.

*G&A were impressed by how the D-Backs’ hitters attacked Aaron Harang. The guys agree the sky-is-the-limit for Chris Young. Gambo believes this team will hit plenty of homers in ’08.

* The Final Four is set and for the first time in tourney history, four #1 seeds will be playing this weekend in San Antonio. G&A broke down the match-ups. Both like Memphis to beat UCLA.

* North Carolina head coach Roy Williams checked in. He discussed coaching against his former team Saturday (Kansas) and the greatness of Tar Heel junior big man Tyler Hansbrough.

* We were also joined in-studio by our March Madness Insider Bill Frieder.

* The Lopez twins (or Lopez sisters as the ASU student section calls them) are both declaring for the NBA. G&A agree this makes sense for Brook, but not Robin, who could use another year or two in Trent Johnson’s system at Stanford.

Tomorrow: ESPN baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian
