Gambo & Ash: October 17, 2007

Here’s what went down today on G&A

* Bob Melvin joined the guys to discuss the playoffs and what should be an interesting off-season. BoMel defended his decisions in the Rocks’ series.

* Gambo & Ash discussed Conor Jackson’s future in Arizona. Gambo thinks the D-Backs can upgrade from CoJax at 1st. G&A agree that the Diamondbacks need to try to improve their roster, but keep their young core together.

* Lisa Love checked in to talk ASU football. The Sun Devils are on bye this week before their showdown next week against Cal at Sun Devil Stadium.

* Kobe Bryant is back on the trade block. G&A agree Chicago is the front-runner in the Kobe sweepstakes, but think the Suns could offer a sweeter deal with ‘Trix, LB and the Hawks’ pick next season. Iif the Lakers called, the Suns would have to listen.

* We were also joined by HOF QB Troy Aikman. The former Cowboy great shared his thoughts on the Cardinals new look under Ken Whisenhunt, a possible overseas Super Bowl and the chances the Patriots will lose a game this season.

* Ash is going to ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’ next month in Glendale. Gambo ripped him, but Ash responded by saying Gambo bumps Hannah Montana when driving to/from work.

Tomorrow: ASU leading receiver Mike Jones, cnnsi.com college football writer Stewart Mandel, and D-Backs GM Josh Byrnes

    Hi John-

Kobe does not have an “L” in his first name. On the air you always call him Kolby. What’s up with that?
