Is Barbosa leaving the Suns?

Here’s what went down Friday on G&A…

* Dave Burns pinch-hit for the vacationing Gambo.

* LB heading out? Leandro Barbosa spoke out to a Brazilian newspaper saying he would be willing to accept a trade to the Knicks to be reunited with Mike D’Antoni and his staff in New York. Burnsy and Ash wonder if LB knows something we don’t-at least not yet. Burnsy wonders if Barbosa would even fit in with the new coaching staff that Steve Kerr assembles. Ash thinks a fresh coaching staff can turn LB into a serviceable, but never great, defender.

* ASU Wrestling is Back! ASU AD Lisa Love confirmed ASU wrestling is back. A group of anonymous donors stepped up to put the program back on the map, or mat, so-to-speak, pouring in millions of dollars. Burnsy thinks ASU wrestling has a small, but die hard, core of fans. Burnsy and Ash are surprised the program has been revived.

* Back on the Bump Doug Davis back on the hill tonight for the first time since conquering cancer. Burnsy hopes the Dbacks’ can wake up the bats on the road for once. Ash wonders how poorly the Dbacks would be if they didn’t play in the severely over-rated NL West.

* Overpaid! Burnsy threw out the question: who is a bigger waste of money, Eric Byrnes or Boris Diaw? Ash thinks Byrnes is the bigger mistake because he has peaked and won’t get any better than last season’s good, but not great, stats. He thinks Diaw has the potential to be a very good NBA player. Diaw’s lack of effort is more than irritating. Byrnes at least continues to play hard every single game.

* Diamondbacks’ analyst Mark Grace checks in from Atlanta to preview the weekend series against the Braves and discuss the club’s current 3-game losing streak. He also shared his thoughts on Doug Davis’ return to the rotation following his successful bout with cancer. Grace will also be a part of FSN’s “Salute to the Troops” during Monday morning’s telecast.

* Cards’ starting linebacker Gerald Hayes joined the show in to discuss the first week of OTA’s which concluded yesterday in Tempe. Hayes started all 16 games last season and collected a career-high 115 tackles.

No show Monday. Coyotes’ captain Shane Doan sits in with Ash Tuesday.
