Gambo & Ash: October 22, 2007

Here’s what went down today on G&A

* Cardinals lose another heartbreaker - this time in D.C. against the Redskins. Ken Whisenhunt is under the microscope after calling for an Anquan Boldin run-pass option on the two-point conversion. The guys debate whether it was the right call. Gambo applauded Whiz and defended his decision. We took plenty of calls - some liked it, others didn’t.

* Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin joined the guys to discuss the play, the first half of the season and the team’s morale entering the bye week.

* The wildfires are forcing the Chargers to practice in Phoenix this week. G&A discuss where the ‘Bolts might play the Texans on Sunday.

* The Red Sox complete their ALCS comeback, whacking the Indians in Game 7 last night at Fenway Park. G&A share their thoughts on the World Series - both agree the Red Sox are a better team with better pitching than the Rockies.

* Mike Stoops is in deep trouble down in the Old Pueblo. ’Cats drop another one - this one to Stanford Saturday in Tucson. Gambo thinks Stoops is done, but Ash isn’t so sure.

* We begin the hype peeking ahead to Cal-ASU this weekend.

Tomorrow: Tim Kurjkian from Fenway Park & ESPN college football analyst Mark May
