Here’s what Monday on G&A…
The imperfect World Series is complete and last night’s ALCS had a perfect ending…for Gambo. Gambo loves the Rays, their upcoming ace/playoff closer David Price, and the fact that they sent his hated Red Sox home in heartbreaking fashion. Ash doesn’t expect the WS ratings to break any records. In fact he believes it will be one of the lowest rated in history. As for who will win. Gambo says TB in 6. Ash sees it the opposite way.
What a way for U of A to start their season. The Cats are 5-2 after an impressive win over Cal. Ash thinks it’s even more impressive than the one over #2 Oregon last year. After all, Dennis Dixon was hurt and had no business playing in that game. U of A plays USC next, and Gambo says there’s no chance that the Wildcats will win. He even offered to wear U of A gear in the event of an upset, but would not agree to Ash’s challenge of shaving his goatee should the Cats win.
Speaking of winning, how about another impressive one by Texas this weekend. The Longhorns now top the first BCS standings report, but Ash doesn’t believe they will for long. But that doesn’t mean Alabama will, either. In fact, Ash can see an upset on the horizon when the Crimson Tide meet up with Tennessee. Bama’, after all, seems to be just getting by these days.
Tuesday: The return of E. ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian previews the imperfect World Series.
