Playing Their Cards Right - Do you believe it Cardinal fans? The Red Birds will be hosting the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday in Glendale with a chance to reach, gulp…the Super Bowl. Cards 33 Panthers 13. Being a loyal Bird follower, Ash is on Cloud Nine. Gambo was stunned with some of the weekend developments, including the Eagles domination of the Giants in New York. The guys agree things are setting up nicely for the Red Birds who have embraced the underdog and, more importantly, unappreciated role like no other (Philly is favored by 3 Sunday). Is this their year? The guys debated and we took calls.
We caught up with Sports 620 KTAR reporter Johnny V. LIVE at Cardinal headquarters to discuss the health status of Anquan Boldin for Sunday and get reaction regarding the Red Birds’ NFC Championship showdown against the Eagles Sunday in Glendale. V. said the Cards’ media relations department has been getting pelted with interview requests from around the county.
Cardinals’ defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast joined us to discuss their 33-13 beat down of Carolina Saturday and to preview Sunday’s game against Philly. The Cards forced 6 Panther turnovers and allowed only 269 total yards. Pendergast said the key to stopping the Eagles is containing dangerous Brian Westbrook.
Dave Burns joined the guys to preview The 620 SportsLine which includes a cake designed like a crow and a straitjacket. Good times!
