Here’s what went down Monday on G&A…

Free Therapy - The Cards lost a heart-breaker last night in Tampa as the Steelers captured their NFL-best 6th Super Bowl Championship thanks to some late-game heroics from Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes.  Ash was at Raymond James Stadium and although disappointed by the result, he was happy he stayed for the game.  Gambo feels it will go down as one of the best Super Bowls in NFL history as the game featured a little bit of everything.  Both agree Big Ben was the difference as he made plays in and out of the pocket when his team needed it most.  G&A agree the Cards are set-up for another post-season run, but Ash doesn’t foresee another Super Bowl-run.  Gambo sees several key players leaving this off-season including Anquan Boldin.  Also, what happens with Kurt Warner and linebacker Karlos Dansby.  We took calls.

Ben There, Done That - Big Ben wasn’t perfect, but came up with some late-game escaping the pocket and picking the Red Birds’ secondary apart on the final drive with pump fakes and perfect throws, including the game-winner to Santonio Holmes in the closing seconds.  The guys discussed Roethlisberger’s game and how the Cards helped along the way with some stupid, albeit sometimes questionable, defensive penalties.

We caught up with Sports 620 KTAR reporter Johnny V. LIVE in Tampa.  He covered Super Bowl XVIII and said the Cardinal fans were not in poor spirits following the close loss last night.  He had an interesting trip back to the Tampa Convention Center with the great Jerry Rice following the game.

We dropped in on the Cards’ Sky Harbor homecoming rally this afternoon.  Head coach Ken Whisenhunt spoke, as did Kurt Warner who hinted he may be back next year after all.  4,000 people attended.

Cards’ starting middle linebacker Karlos Dansby discussed the devastating loss to the Steelers and how the team is handling things the day after since returning to the Valley.  He was upset at his questionable roughing the passer call against Big Ben and hopes the Cards can keep the core, himself included, intact next season.  He said coming back for a one-year deal under the franchise tag is a possible option.  Dansby had a team-leading eight tackles and an interception against Pittsburgh.
