Here’s what went down today on G&A:
* The Coyotes are red-hot - well, for the Coyotes, that is. Big win last night in San Jose. The Desert Dogs are now a game over .500 and return to the home ice Saturday against Vancouver. G&A discussed if people care about this team. Ash thinks a deep postseason run will catch the Valley’s attention. Gambo thinks this team is built the right way - unlike recent teams of the past.
* We were joined by TV Coyotes color analyst Darren Pang.
* ASU safety Troy Nolan joined G&A. The ASU junior leads the Pac-10 with six interceptions. ASU plays Texas in the Holiday Bowl Thursday.
* G&A discussed Sammy Sosa, who continues to dodge the “steroid bullet.” G&A think Slammin’ Sammy’s guilty, but wonder if anyone will ever find enough dirt to nail him.
* Shaquille O’Neal and Pat Riley are at odds. Riley wants the slimmed-down Diesel to play more out on the perimeter. Shaq wants none of that. G&A discussed how some of the greatest players in NBA history had to tweak their games as their career unfolded. We took calls - many think Shaq needs to change for the good of his career and the Heat.
* We were joined by ESPN MNF analyst Ron Jaworski. Jaws thinks the Cardinals still have plenty to play for - a .500 record - even with the playoffs out of the picture.
Next Week: The dynamic duo of Rod Lakin & Bryan Gibberman guide the Gambo & Ash ship.
