Girl Scout Cookie Controversy

Here’s what went down Monday on G&A:

* BIG announcement mid-way thru the show: Mark Asher gave his oral commitment this afternoon - he will buy Girl Scout cookies from Doug Franz’s daughter. However, the commitment is non-binding so look for Burnsy to make a late push for he and his daughter before signing day.

* We are down to four in the NFL. G&A threw big props to the Giants and Chargers, although both could live without Philip Rivers’ postgame antics - especially since he didn’t play during the most important point of the game. G&A like the Pats to breeze by the ‘Bolts this weekend in Foxboro. Both agree Tony Romo’s romp to Cabo with Jessica Simpson was a distraction yesterday.

* Is Tony Dungy done in Indy? Gambo thinks Dungy might want to step away from the game for a couple years to spend more time with his family.

* Bulls rookie Joakim Noah was suspended over the weekend - by his teammates. We took calls on players suspending other players. Gambo likes the idea, Ash isn’t so sure. G&A think it would be in Steve Kerr’s best interest to pick up the phone and make a call to Chicago inquiring about the player they coveted in the draft.

* ASU men’s hoops broke into the Top 25 for the first time in over a decade. The 13-2 Sun Devils hit the road for the first time since early December this week. Gambo thinks UCLA is clearly the best team in the Pac after Saturday’s beat-down of previously unbeaten Washington State at Pauley Pavilion - just how good is Kevin Love?

Tomorrow: Clippers forward Tim Thomas & the amazing story of Gene Conley
