Here’s what went down Thursday on G&A:
* Big game for the Suns in LA against the Pacific Division-leading Lakers. Ash wonders if this team has the makeup to “turn it on” come playoff time. Gambo thinks a Phoenix loss could trigger a move. He also thinks Amare Stoudemire won’t be wearing a Suns’ uniform at the end of the season - stay tuned.
* Bobby Knight won his 900th game last night as Texas Tech upset A&M. G&A debated if “The General” made the right move to Lubbock - knowing he will never win an NCAA title there. How much longer will he stick around? Both agree he will never change his coaching style or how he handles his players.
* ESPN NBA analyst Tim Legler checked in. Legler said the Suns are fine and things will straighten out before the postseason. He also shared his thoughts on Joakim Noah’s player-dictated suspension.
* G&A discussed the ever-growing UFC. The sport is making big dollars, but the fighters are not. Ash thinks they deserve a bigger piece of the pie, just not sure how big a piece. Gambo believes these fighters need to look out for themselves and get as much as they can, as fast as they can.
* San Francisco 49er great Dwight Clark joined the guys to discuss “The Catch” and life during and after the NFL.
* We were also joined by Cowboys legendary running back Tony Dorsett. ”TD” talked about the Cowboys loss to the Giants and how the Patriots are unstoppable.
Tomorrow: Bears Pro-Bowl kick returner Devin Hester

Here’s what went down Wednesday on G&A:
* Gambo was off, so Johnny V. filled in with Ash.
* Ash signed his Girl Scout cookie LOI with Burnsy’s daughter this afternoon.
* The show was dominated by the Suns who lost to the lowly Clippers last night. The Suns are now officially in 2nd place in the Pacific. The guys agree the biggest problem is on the defensive end of the court. Ash isn’t sure this brutal stretch of games is getting the Suns “postseason-ready.”
* We were joined by Lakers forward Luke Walton. Walton still thinks the Suns are very good team that can go deep in the playoffs. He also couldn’t believe his UA Wildcats were knocked off by the Sun Devils last week.
* Big week ahead for the Top 25 ASU Sun Devils. ASU plays at Cal Thursday and Stanford Saturday. We were joined by Golden Bear head coach Ben Braun. ASU Athletic Director Lisa Love also joined the guys.
* The WAC is cracking down. New Mexico State fans can no longer chant “nice shot, a-hole!” when an opposing player makes a free throw. For the record, the Spanish version will not be allowed either…go figure.
* O.J. Simpson got ripped by Judge Jackie Glass - then she doubled his bail today in Vegas. The guys agree “The Juice” is an idiot for not stepping out of the spotlight when he could have. Ash thinks O.J. is off to jail.
* Cardinals starting safety Terrence Holt also joined the guys to discuss his first season with the Red Birds, the championship games this weekend, and his charity flag football tournament February 2nd in Avondale.
Tomorrow: Gambo returns
Guests: former NFL greats Dwight Clark & Tony Dorsett, NBA analyst Tim Legler
Here’s what went down Tuesday on G&A:
* No Ash, just Gambo this afternoon.
* The Lakers are now tied with the Suns atop the Pacific Division. Then was the last time this happened? Gambo still thinks the Suns are better and will win the division, but the Lakers are improved and could be a thorn in the side of Phoenix come playoff time.
* We were joined by former Sun, now Clippers forward Tim Thomas. T2 said he is enjoying living and playing in LA, but misses the Suns’ tempo and his old teammates.
* Giants offensive lineman and former ASU star Grey Ruegamer joined Gambo to discuss Sunday’s big win in Dallas. Grey loved beating the ‘Boys especially after the pregame trashing talking from Patrick Crayton, T.O. and the gang. He said the frigid temps should not bother either team this weekend at Lambeau Field.
* Gambo lobbied for all the ASU fans to pull for the Giants to reach the “Big Game” because he is the only Sun Devil alum playing this weekend. Some people actually bought whatever Gambo was selling.
* We were also joined by former two-sport star Gene Gonley. Conley shared his thoughts on playing against Wilt Chamberlain and pitching to Ted Williams - in the same year. He was Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan before those guys ever stepped on a professional playing field. Conley is also the only athlete to win a championship in both basketball and baseball.
* Callers shared their thoughts on some of the bigger and smaller two-sport stars of the past and present.
Tomorrow: Ash returns, but Gambo doesn’t - Johnny V. fills in.
Guests: Lakers forward Luke Walton, Cal head coach Ben Braun and ASU Athletic Director Lisa Love.

Here’s what went down Monday on G&A:
* BIG announcement mid-way thru the show: Mark Asher gave his oral commitment this afternoon - he will buy Girl Scout cookies from Doug Franz’s daughter. However, the commitment is non-binding so look for Burnsy to make a late push for he and his daughter before signing day.
* We are down to four in the NFL. G&A threw big props to the Giants and Chargers, although both could live without Philip Rivers’ postgame antics - especially since he didn’t play during the most important point of the game. G&A like the Pats to breeze by the ‘Bolts this weekend in Foxboro. Both agree Tony Romo’s romp to Cabo with Jessica Simpson was a distraction yesterday.
* Is Tony Dungy done in Indy? Gambo thinks Dungy might want to step away from the game for a couple years to spend more time with his family.
* Bulls rookie Joakim Noah was suspended over the weekend - by his teammates. We took calls on players suspending other players. Gambo likes the idea, Ash isn’t so sure. G&A think it would be in Steve Kerr’s best interest to pick up the phone and make a call to Chicago inquiring about the player they coveted in the draft.
* ASU men’s hoops broke into the Top 25 for the first time in over a decade. The 13-2 Sun Devils hit the road for the first time since early December this week. Gambo thinks UCLA is clearly the best team in the Pac after Saturday’s beat-down of previously unbeaten Washington State at Pauley Pavilion - just how good is Kevin Love?
Tomorrow: Clippers forward Tim Thomas & the amazing story of Gene Conley
Here’s what’s happening Friday on G&A:
4:01-Torry Holt: Rams Super Bowl champ and 7-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver will preview this weekend’s playoff games, share his thoughts on playing with current Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner and his charity flag football tournament February 2nd in Avondale.
3:01-Scott Williams: The former Sun and NBA veteran, now a television analyst with the Milwaukee Bucks will share his thoughts on everything making headlines around the league and preview tomorrow’s game at U.S. Airways Center.

Here’s what went down Thursday on G&A:
* ASU beats UA. Yes, that’s right, ASU beats UA in men’s basketball. ASU freshman sensation James Harden goes crazy in the 2nd half and overtime. Gambo thinks you must include Harden with the other top freshman (Mayo, Love, Gordon, etc.) around the country. Ash is cautiously optimistic about the Sun Devils, but Gambo thinks they’ll be wearing their dancing shoes. Gambo also thinks Chase Budinger is overrated.
* Harden joined G&A. Harden says he’s not thinking about the NBA right now and is happy to be a Sun Devil.
* USC head coach Pete Carroll is eyeing the coaching vacancy in Atlanta with the Falcons. G&A think he’s crazy for even considering leaving the Land of Troy.
* We were joined by former ASU lineman, now Giants starting center Grey Ruegamer. He previewed their game Sunday against the Cowboys. Grey likes The Big Apple, but hates the media - you’ll hear the promo.
* ESPN NBA insider Tim Legler checked in to break down the Grant Hill-less Suns. Legs shared his thoughts on everything else making headlines around the league including the surprising Portland Trailblazers.
* Gambo jokingly suggested the Suns look into 7’7 UNC-Ashville junior center Kenny George. George leads the nation in blocks, but was posterized by North Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough last night.
* Gambo reported free-agent outfielder Luis Gonzalez might sign with the Florida Marlins.
Tomorrow: Ron Jaworski & Rams Pro-Bowl wide receiver Torry Holt
