Today, Mitt Romney tried to set the record straight on his faith and the role he feels it plays in his bid for the presidency, so we’re bringing you “The Top 7 Surprises During Mitt Romney’s Big Speech”!
My immediate thoughts on Romney’s speech: Boring! Wooden! Like Al Gore! Somehow, he struck me as desperate, too! These aren’t the reasons you won’t elect him president, however. You won’t elect him because you, like so many others, are freaked out by the Mormon religion! I, Gaydos, would vote for a Mormon if he were the right man for the job. We get your thoughts on this during our first hour!
Yesterday’s massacre in an Omaha mall has left the nation once again stunned. It also left the young gunman famous, as reports say his suicide note predicted. Should this guy’s name and face be plastered all over the news media? Are we just giving him what he wants? Gaydos seeks the answers to these questions at 8 o’clock! We’ll also hear the chilling 9-1-1 calls that came in as the shooter continued his rampage!
You already know that Gaydos thought the Mitt Romney speech was a dud. At 9 o’clock, Eleanor Clift of The McLaughlin Group gives us her thoughts on where Mitt goes from here!
At 9:20, will Jenna Bush’s dad be hot under the collar when he gets an unexpected call from his pumpkin while she’s on The Ellen DeGeneres Show?
Of course, we round out Red V. Blue Thursday with Presidential Match Game! Carlos(D) and James(R) match wits and answers with our panel of stars: Headbanger Hanna Scott, young Gaydos apprentice Jarrett Carlen and presidential historian and scholar B. Nicks!
It’s great to have Gaydos on the show!

Gaydos- After listening to your show last night my conviction that the masses are asses is confirmed. You’re right, I don’t think that Romney will gain the presidency because of his religious affiliations and like yourself I think it’s sad. It amazes me how many “Christians” say they wouldn’t vote for a Mormon. Most of these people calling themselves Christians could fit their knowledge of their own religion into a thimble and yet they cling to this notion that they can’t vote for anyone who isn’t Christian. I know that some people are going to vote for Hillary because she’s a woman. I know that some people are going to vote for Obama because he’s black. And I know that some people won’t vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon. But just because I know this is how our country is, doesn’t mean I agree with it. I am a Christian person who spent most of my life growing up in Iowa and agree that Romney could have done a better job of conveying his beliefs to both Iowan’s and the general population. But I don’t understand why people don’t take the time to research the Mormon religion if that’s their only road block to considering Romney as a viable candidate. It’s easy for people to denounce something they don’t understand, but if people want to know what Mormon’s believe and how they differ from other sects of Christianity then research it. I’m aware of the stereotypes of Mormon’s and unfortunately the media has placed them under a magnifying glass. But comparing Romney to extremist Mormons portrayed in the media is no different than comparing mainstream Christianity to skin head “Christians” or law abiding Muslims to Muslim Jihadists. Romney is one of my top 2 picks and if I don’t decide to vote for him you can be certain it won’t be due to his status as a Mormon.
